Your FF6 Dream Team

You know you can use all 14 characters when you fight Kefka, but come on...who really does that? Who are your FOUR DREAM TEAM MEMBERS? You teach them every spell, you give them the best weapons, you level them up all the way and take care of them like they were your own children, and when they are wounded, so are you.

Mine are Sabin, Edgar, Celes, and either Gau or Terra, depending on what kind of mood I'm in.

My Dream team is simple. Sabin, Gogo, Celes, and Terra. two bum rushers, Gogo can use any spell the other 3 have, Celes get Genji offering, and Terra morphs and just puts pure pwnage on everyone.

Man that is weird. I may have to try that sometime. I can see how it would fit together pretty well. Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating a little by just having all my hosses together. That sounds like it would be something of a challenge.

My First team in Kefka's tower is always Shadow, Edgar, Terra and Gau. They tear stuff up!

They know whatever spells I really need. Anybody else is redundant (Except for Celes, who I usually make into too much of a magic user to prefer, and Shadow, who is such a deserter that I don't use him on principal and usually let him die since he really needs a clearing of conscience.)

Gogo, Edgar, Sabin, Cyan...

Now you can say that none of them are that great with magic, but the only spell I use is Quick, and with that and say... Quadra Slice, that's more than any magic spell anyways... and everyone does 9999 damage with ultima in my game, so I don't really use Magic, I'm all about the physical fighters. Honestly as I go through the tower, Sabin leads one party, Cyan another, and Gogo w/Swd Tech/Blitz and Edgar lead the fourth, I actually don't even need anyone else in the parties to get through it.

Actually I have beaten it with the 3 required WOR characters and only those 3, Celes, Setzer, and Edgar, and Magic was Celes thing (considering you can't get her good weapons) and GP rain for Setzer, and Edgar with chainsaw/drill as always...

But either way, my Cyan is the best, high Speed due to Odin esper, and endless casting of Quick and Quadra Slice, I can beat any boss without even getting hit!

Terra's Morph does just that, changes her to her esper form. I'm pretty sure it just ups all of her stats by half again... So she can do the same things, just better. And the longer you have the ability to Morph but don't use it, it'll build up and when you finally do use it, it'll last most of a major battle.

Slightly off topic here but I hope someone can answer. What does Terra's Morph do and how can you control her when she is in Esper form?

I don't know about the actual stat changes, but I'm pretty sure that it doubles her magic power for the temporary time that it lasts. (There's a little bar that disappears as her time in that form goes. I think it lasts a minute or something.)

Anyway, try it. It should work quite easily something like this:

Terra casts fire: 50 damage.
Morphed casts fire: 100 dmg.

And so on.

The last few times I've played through, I've given special treatment to Terra, Celes, Locke, and Shadow. With Terra and Celes, I max out their magic power by leveling them up with the right espers, and teach them every spell. They can also use the best equipment, too. So they are my most powerful characters.

I like to level up Locke and Shadow (and sometimes Sabin) with Odin until they have very high speed, and then boost attack power after that.

In Kefka's tower, I can put a super magic user in each group (Terra, Celes, and the other is usually Strago), and a very fast fighter. At a high level, that's really all I need.

One time through, I made Mog my most powerful character... he had max magic power and every spell, and he kicked ass. That was fun.

it's hard to have a bad combination though. In the last battle I had at one point Mog Celes Gogo and Setzer.

setzer can rack up a lot of damage with so many turns at slicing and Dice-ing.

My Terra has Magic Box and Economiser. Sabin has Gengi Glove and Offering, maxing out his attack and such. Nobody else seems to really matter. Though I like to abuse Celes' Rune thingy... Fourth member would probably be Locke or Edgar. Maybe Shadow

Also, on a somewhat related note, you can't quite use all fourteen. You might be able to use twelve, if you're really determined to do so though. This is because there are only twelve slots on the prebattle set-up list and you can only bring twelve people with you to the Kefka battle anyway. They are used four at a time and the dead are replaced during the "changing of forms"/"tier switches".

As for the other two, well they're stuck on the airship incase anybody wanted to know. Afterall, somebody has to watch the getaway ride. Well, unless you didn't get more then twelve people that is.

I'm not a fan of Sabin as I have a habit of messing up his blitzes, otherwise I'm sure he'd be there. I rather like the Rune ability that Celes' has, and the other three are just fun to use, if only for Mog's dances.

-Celes: economizer + zephir cape, circlet, minerva, force shield, enhancer, making quick and ultima

-Sabin: *if i'm going on a walk.- doing blitzes, tiger fangs, paladin shield, red cap, red jacket, hyper wrist, white cape
*if battling kefka.- genji glove + oferring, tiger fangs, dragon claw, red cap, red jacket

-Locke: *if i'm going on a walk.- gengi glove + thief glove, 2x wing edge, red cap, force armor (from back row)
*if battling kefka.- genji glove + hyper wrist, atma weapon, excalibur, red cap, force armor

I know i didn't use genji armors and shields but i didn't need it, i asume that with this team they never touched me

Without a doubt you have to start out with the Figaro Brothers!! :) After that I'd go with Locke or Celes, equipped with the Genji Glove/ Offering combo, and Mog....I know he's not the strongest character and I don't use his dance ability at all, but you HAVE to love that little guy!
Really, the only two I'd say for sure I'd want in a party where I was going for max power are the Figaro's... outside of them any combo of Locke, Terra, Celes, Cyan or Shadow would do wonders.

Mog the dancer jumper and one heck of a defender with Dragoon Boots and Exp. Egg, dunno what I am going to equip him/her/it when i get him to level high enough.
Edgar the chainsaw killer with whatever!
Celes the magicblocker with golden hairpin and runningshoes.
