How to you lower or gain them for your characters?

Mediator's the best way to go:

Praise raises brave by four points.
Preach raises faith by four points.
Threaten lowers brave by twenty points.
Solution lowers faith by twenty points.

Beowulf/Oracles can help as well:

Chicken lowers brave by 50 points.
Innocent reduces faith to zero.

Some Bard/Dancer support skills can affect faith:

Brave Up raises brave
Face Up raises faith

Some weapons as well:

Faith Rod raises faith.

What this i hear about members laving your party if brave or faith get too low?

If I remember correctly, it was:
If a character's brave got too low they'd leave
If a character's faith got too HIGH they'd leave

Can't remember for sure so...

I forgot the Oracle's Foxbird: it lowers brave by ten points.

The Oracle's Doubt Faith is the spell that makes you Innocent.

Beowulf's Faith makes your faith 100.

You can permenantly raise or lower faith and brave. I'm unsure of the ratio, but it's along the lines for every four points of brave or faith you change one point permemenantly changes.

You shouldn't have brave below 5 or faith above 95.

The ratio is 4:1.

I don't believe there are any job classes that effect brave or faith level by leveling up.

And just to set the record straight, Oracle's Foxbird spell lowers brave by 30 pts.

It should be noted that you can increase or decrease Ramza's Bravery and Faith beyond the "Blood makes me squeamish" and "Time to go be a televangelist!" limits.

Also, Ramza's Cheer Up has a permanent effect on Brave, and I believe Scream does as well.

Best thing about cheer up is that it raises brave 5 points per turn with 100% accuracy. Very nice indeed.

Turning chracters into chickens is fun, and very useful in the Deep Dungeon when looking for the exit.

i believe it's because of the bravery factor, but if you put blade grasp on the main character while his bravery is like 99....pretty much no one can touch him. im not putting a gaurantee on it, try it though...it's awesome.

Permanant Brave and Faith cannot go above 97 but you can raise it higher in battle. I'm not sure how low the permanent stat can go, since I haven't tried it yet.

Note that Innocent is a temporary status effect, as is Faith. The exception is Worker 8, who automatically has Innocence no matter what you do. Which is fine, since enemy magic does squat to him that way.

but.....cheer up doesnt raise brave permanently lol but, im pretty sure scream does, cuz i used scream a lot to get jp, and now ramza has 97 brave lol (at level 90 though) but hes had that breave since the lvl 60 area, so maybe his brave changes throughout chapters, like his squire abilities.
