Well, I don't think you can be "1/3" something...unless there was some possible infidelity. :) Even then though, I don't think you can. Think "even" in terms of possible mixes.

If your grandfather was black, you are 1/4th black. If your great grandmother was jewish, you're 1/8th jewish, and so on. Of course, this is assuming neither your grandmother nor your parents were black for you to be 1/4th black. The math isn't too bad since it deals with even numbers.

I don't see why people make so much of a claim to some ethnicity from around the world...we all came from one original ethnicity anyways.
