I'm pretty happy with that list, even though it's not the most accurate, at least it's better than most of the music lists that say 50 Cent is number 1. *rolls eyes* Though Avril Lavigne shouldn't be on it at all. Rather, she should be 1# on the 100 worst songs.

System of a Down should score a little higher. I like how My Chemical Romance, Evanescence (even though Evanescence's worst song made it to 32 on there), The Rasmus and The White Stripes got on it.

Thank god Queen made it to the top ten.

Excuse me, I like some emo.

I happen to enjoy Bright Eyes, though that's more folk than emo sometimes, and a few other bands, but I don't listen to them quite so much any more.

What I hate is generic, homogenised, emotionless trash. The kind of music that the writers are performers pretty much sleep through as they create, it doesn't matter about the genre, if people have put themselves into their music and it's taken EFFORT, then I'll like it.

Most of what is on this list is just...embarassing, I see, at most 10 songs on there I like, and songs by bands that are just AWFUL in comparison to their other work.

I actually agree here, though perhaps not such an extreme extent that I would consider all music bar the ones I like awful, merely not exactly my cup of tea (or perhaps they are my cup of tea, because I don't like tea).

Kerrang is a confusing magazine (Trust me, I read a recent issue). In the most part, it appears to be designed for 13-14 Linkin Park hooded kids who listen to the radio. Especially when they talk about banal stuff link HIM and the Rasmus who are dressed up Finnish pop bands. And kiss Kurt Cobain's dead ass. "Nirvana r da BEST! I've onlly listened to Nevermind bt they are G8!!!! w00t!"

However, it then brings up bands (in a small way) that these kids wouldn't appreciate or even understand. Like NIN or The Smashing Pumpkins. Even Hell Is For Heroes... Is it invanded post publication by older,wiser rock listeners? Hell, there isn't any Garbage on that list!

The Pixies - a band rarely seen on any 'music' channel. But then, oh, what's this? Pixies headlining Reading festival? That was unexpected. And then...oh my, mtv2 awards Pixies with the 'most inspirational band of all time' title. Coincidence? It's all just sickening. Bands are just resurrected and re-buried time and time again whenever the demand is high or low enough.

No. Kerrang was a music magazine back in the day and is now a music station (as well). Engalnd has regional radio stations and national ones as well, due to them transmitting over an larger area.

Regional (For me): Century 106, Leicester Sound 105.4
National: Kerrang 105.2, Radio 1 (97.9)

In Canada and the US, I assume you have state Radio stations. Well, based on size the'll be our national stations.


If you just listen to there music, you'll see that there good..

I even like pop bands, if that's what they are : Pop bands. Busted made two great Pop albums, which I enjoy.
Sadly, like Avril Lavigne, The Rasmus are essentially Pop dressed up and talk like they are in a Rock Band when they really are a Pop Band. Imagine Boyzone in Gothic style makeup and you'll understand.

I don't think that's the problem. I think that the definition of Rock is too loose nowadays and someone is now telling you what is cool and what is not.

The "problem" with rock music is that many true artists don't like to think their music as a business, like the Hip-Hop industry does. Therefore, it doesn't sell because the mainstream crowd (those who LIVE with the radio on at all times) changes tastes too quickly. Rock bands who try to emulate Hip-Hop (the busniess aspect) generally fade quickly because rock music isn't as marketable like Hip-Hop is (clothes, bling, all that jazz).

In other words, rock isn't that big anymore because of lack of creativity combined with the public's lack of interest.
