But seriously the second I got him in the game he never left my combat party. I mean he's fast, has a pretty high attack, and his abilities are some of the best.

What level are you playing on? If you're playing on level easy or mid-level, then you're doing better than okay. I'm not sure about the harder level though. Albel isn't rubbish, you just have to know how to use him right.

im on the mid-level. I just didnt oike him.
Im stuck in the Barr Ruins . Ive lighted up the cross and ive opened all the doors but I dont know what to do next. I know you go through to the lava place after. Im not sure how to get there.

Albel is easily the best you should wait until you get vampiric flash and when his strength hits the 9,999 mark it's lethal

Even though I love both Cliff and Maria a lot... Albel gets my vote. He's strong, fast, have an awesome style, awesome voice and looks cool... he's simply great in every way. Oh, well... actually... most of the characters are great. But Albel is still my fav. Albel is usually the character I controll the most in battles. But seriously... ever singel character in this game is great (except Adray).

I like every character except Adray, he just bugged me and you get him at level 15, and my other character were 50, so yeah... Albel is my favorite, I just like characters like him for some reason. n.n I love his hair to, it's awesome. I guess I have werid tastes in guys or something, I don't know, but I love the dude. Plus, he's played by my favorite anime voice actors, Crispin Freeman. I've always loved his voice, ever since I saw Slayers. He looks awesome also, not just the hair... *drools along with Dking'squeen* I can't help it... XD

I :<3: Nel and Maria. But I voted for Nel becasue I really missed her that she's not in my party after Disc 1. :( :cry: I don't understand why this happened.... I don't even understand why I'm the only one who love Nel..... well, currently, she holds only a vote...

I dislike Albel. Adray is all right becasue his daughter, Clair is so beautiful :love: I wish I'll one day become her subordinate. And, I'll train hard so that I'm able to do push-up 1000+ times. ahhhh, that way, Clair has no choice but to marry me. If Adray is in your final party, you'll get what I mean!

-oh! I forgot to tell you that I just beat the game last Sunday ie 15 May. Guess I've to replay in order to get Nel in my party.

ultima shadow....you must not have been to sphere 211 yet cause there on floor 172 you can level up all your lower level people,so i decided to train up adray and yes he's annoying but he learns southern cross by LEVEL,and it's one of the strongest well in fact it is the strongest symbology skill in the game,and sirrocco is a great skill,it helped me against freya and it stopped her form going into ether strike when i was stood next to her,and it was the fact that luckilly he was doing naff all when i used ethereal blast on her,cause she went for ether strike so i quickly changed to him and used a stun bomb om he,ahh the stupid AI from the computer actally helps sometimes.but yeah adray is usable,
and i rekon that it should only be albels clothes that were changed as he did dress like a woman, but he's a good character.

Well since topic says, best, and not favorite, Nel is the best character in the game. Whirlwind lvl 10 does the most damage, and Splitting Sky does the most MP damage.

I like Albel becaus eeven though he's annoying, he makes up for it by being a strong fighter. I like Nel because she is difficult at times, but is a very cool-looking character.

most people like Albel cause he's one of the best people in battle(well i think so) his vampiric flash is nasty and powerful,he has agility somehwhat comparable to fayt.
no one likes sophia really because she uses symbology,i don't see hwy no one likes her,cause i rekon she can be made really powerful(in battle) but i don't like her cause she's unnaturally happy and is always smiling, the only time she's of any use whatso ever, my guess is no one voted for fayt cause he's just annoying and his only good skill is ethereal blast.
i mean i like mirage myself but Albel is better,but i think he could've used a change of clothes cause he looks like a woman.

Hes like the best. I started a new game and Had Albel init, hes alot better than I thought, but still not my fav, My top3 now are

Adray
Peppita

Peppita is better than I thought, I wanted to train everyone up at least a bit, when I got to training her, I Slowly thought, "Hey...shes actually pretty good" and shes in my main party
But Roger still, Att is above the above

peppita???gee, she was completely useless...her so called ultimate move was one of the worst i had ever seen, she was slow, weak and her only good attack was instaso blast....
but still, if you could get her to be good then i say well done, cause she sucks..lol

Saw the Star Ocean 3 Discussions going on and wanted to join in.

Figure i'll start with this thread, can't decide which character is a favorite.
Character wise, I'd say Nel.
Battle Tactics wise, I'll go with Maria.

Fayt is a good char cause he's fast. And you can also make him unstoppable when he reaches level 255 as well. But it's just that all his moves are way too common and his best move has too big a build up to it. Albel only needs vampiric flash and a good amount of ATK to be good.
