Sometime in the near future, Square-Enix is going to hold a press conference, where they might make some kind of announcement concerning the release date for Advent Children.

In short, we've just gotta wait until they tell us.

I'm *hoping* the English-language release date will follow the Japanese one closely. This has never been discussed in S-E news releases; it's simply something I'd enjoy. It's unlikely that it'll happen, but you never know - after all, Metal Gear Solid 3 was released in the US before it came out in Japan, despite being a Konami game.

Um, keep us waiting? I could understand you saying that if Square themselves had given out an official release date for over here, and kept moving it to a later date, but that's not the case. Be patient. If you hear that it has been released in Japan, only THEN would it be a good time to start looking for an official NA release date.

Square never intended for the movie to be as long or involved as it is now. It started out as a small graphical presentation I guess you could say- nothing like a full-length film. So I don't see what all the hoolaba is about the wait. I expect it from a project of this scale.

No other information is reliable. Square haven't said when the movie's being released, so nobody really knows. Especially random unofficial websites.

A lot of online shops are giving 2006 as the release date just to cover themselves until they really know.

thats wrong!!Yeah, the movie's expected this year. It's supposed to come out sometime this year, that's what Square's been saying ever since they gave up on a 2004 release.

But the shops don't know exactly when it's coming out, so they just say "2006". That way, it's less likely they'll disappoint anyone.

We still don't, and can't, know the exact date until the official word from Square.
They'll most likely release the movie this year sometime, maybe only a month or two after the announcement... but anything's possible.
