Lots of people keep saying that Final Fantasy VII is the greatest and best selling RPG to date.

Q: But how much money did it actually cash in?

These numbers are accurate as of September 2004 (the time of the release of Before Crisis), at the least, I'm sure. The gross profit -- let alone the net profit -- would be hard to determine without actually looking at Square's financial reports, though. The cost of copies of the game changed over time in North America, Japan, and Europe.
