Toughest battle

What is the hardest battle you've encountered in a FF game.
I'd say WarMech from Final Fantasy 1 one the NES.

If I had the international version of FFx, i'd say the dark aeons.


Um, out of the FF's I have played...

I think FFVI's Dream guy in Cyan's dream (his name escapes me) was really really hard for me to beat.

Um...

FFIV's Evil Wall is definitely a pain if you've rushed through the game up to that point.

FFT had some damn tough battles on my first playthrough.

FF5 definitely had quite a few.

I think the hardest I've had recently was a random encounter in ff2j. (luckily I was playing it on an emulator).

Richard was petrified, Maria was frogified. I had no maidenkisses or golden threads. And Maria's heal was just a few points shy of having the anti-frog ability.

I can't remember if frioniel was toadish or not. Probably was-_-

I think I did something like have guy smack himself with teh poison ax then ending the battle so maria could use magic then get the last few points so it'd level up and they'd stop being FRIGGIN" FROGS.

That was at the top of the one castle so richard left soon anyways. But I had to think a long time on how to get out of that mess@_@;;

(and those were just normal random encounters. It just goes to show what having a very limited item space will do to you.)

Nah. Ruby wepaon in the matter fact. Had to think for a while for a tough battle.

Ruby weapon or in ffviii when tou battle fujin and rajin with rinoa. i had tinoa in a suck@$$ level so that´s prpably the reason. RUBY WEAPON IS MY FINAL ANSWER, THE ONLY BOSS THAT I´VE HAD PROBLEMS REALLY WITH.

This one time, way back on FFI for the NES, I had what I believe was my hardest and most frustrating battle. I had made it to Chaos with all my guys (Knight, Ninja, White Wizard, Black Wizard) intact and at Level 27, I think. Anyway, so I'm doing okay, thinking I got him beat and... he uses CUR4. Okay, no big, I can still do this. Until he uses it again. And again. Every time I did about 1000 damage to him, he would CUR4 himself. I got so pissed I turned it off and, one week later, went back and beat him. :)

There's always the sick joke battle in FFT against those 12 monks on grog hill.

I must say that Square doesn't do a very good job making their superbosses difficult. I've fought regular bosses in other RPGs harder than Square's superbosses. Most Square superbosses go down with 4-5 hours of post-game training. Maybe if they decided to let the US players fight the Dark Aeons I'd change my tune. The hardest Final Fantasy enemy is probably something out of FFXI that I haven't gotten to yet such as Kirin or Vrtra. Those bosses are so hard they take months of preparation.

There is no dought It's Penance from FFX after you beat all the dark aeons the ultimate battle comes but i kicked his ass tho ;)

I still havent beat Ruby or Emerald weapon from FFVII :cry: so i guess those are the hardest. well for me anyways :(
