welcome well im kinda new too but still:
a lot of the mainstreamers absolutly worship final fantasy vii but i beleive thats because it was the first in the 3d generation. not putting it down its a great game but i found that final fantasy 6 was my favorite. you can really get into the characters and really hate the villians with a passion. with a plus to the snes era and 9 you can play multiplayer like mode where as you select which players you control during battle. i think the way you learn magic is kool too. leveling up materia isnt that bad either. but both are great games. final fantasy 9 is also a good one it does a good job of relicing<probably didnt spell that right> the older games. and you can find all of them for the playstation.

It's hard to say what my favorite is, but based on play time I've beaten FFI far more than any other so lets just go with that. FF1. The NES version.

Socks? {/foot-fetish} I'd have to say FF6 it had a great plot, lots of characters and character development. Plenty of little side things and goodies, and wasn't all that confusing. Nothing ever seemed impossible. You could play pretty much as anyone you wanted. And I think for once all the characters were lovable and usable in their own way. There was so much going for this game I can't honestly think of any real flaw. Truely a must have no matter how you rate it. Get the PS1 version. It'll never steer you wrong. CDs last forever (: Plus even MORE goodies...

The loading times are bearable though. They really aren't that bad at all.

Well if PS3 still plays PS1 games. The need of SNES or emulation will be nullified. I don't like having to pull out my SNES, so having games on PS1 is quite nice. Despite the littel drawbacks of being a CD. Plus I think the extras were nice
