Ok- current problem: my version of FFXI wont run. I try to open the playonline viewer and my pc restarts/crashes. This is the 3rd time I've installed the game. I can login on other machines but I cant even get the program to open on my own. I have the relevant system specs. Anyone got any suggestions or should I just cry some more?

What exactly are you specifications? Also have you tried running a spyware-remover and antivirus program to see if that may be the problem? Maybe you computer might need a little clean out?

You could also check Task Manager to see what processors are being used up, it might be too much memory being used.

Other than that, I don't know, sorry. >.<;

I never used to have any problems running it. I was playing for about 6 months, then I had to format my hard-drive. After that, I cant get it to work. I tried contacting Square Enix Tech support. I've tried (at their suggestion) reinstalling my graphics drivers, changing my os region/language to US. Still no luck. *cries*

Hmm, that is a hickle of a pickle.

Have you downloaded the newest drivers for your video card and not just installed it off a cd?

Umm... I'm really out of ideas, I'm sorry. ;_;

a defrag will help.Heck sometimes it is neccesary to format your whole harddrive then update your drivers.

system specs:
OS: Microsoft Windows ME (4.90, Build 3000)
Memory: 256MB RAM
Page File: 166MB used, 1625MB available.
Direct X ver: 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX100/200
-chip type: n/a? (apparently this is wierd)
-DAC type: n/a?
-approx total memory 32.0mb

compared to my original (formatted version)

OS: Microsoft Windows ME (4.90, Build 3000)
Memory: 256MB RAM
Page File: 119MB used, 1673MB available.
Direct X ver: 7.1 (4.07.01.3000)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX100/200
-chip type:
-DAC type:
-approx total memory 32.0mb

Now chip type and DAC type are still blank (not n/a). What's going on?
