They grow rarer by the day. Who's got a drive-in movie theatre within driving distance of wherever you live? If you do, when was the last time you went there?

If you don't, that sucks for you. There used to be one here in north Fresno, but they tore it down and built a Costco. :(

I thought they were an urban legend?

I been to one when I was a kid. I saw the second Ghostbusters movie. Also, I went and saw a double feature sometime in 2001 (The Animal and Tomb Raider). Yeah, those are crappy movies, but I only had to pay $4 for both.

Anyway, whenever I am at one I feel weird. It's really hard to explain, but I feel that I am about to get myself in a survivor horror (Silent Hill style) situation when I go to them.

The last time I went in 2001, something strange happened. I went to the bathroom. There were at least six or seven people in there. Since all the urinals were filled, I went inside one of the stalls, which had a vent above my head. All of a sudden, I heard a weird noise in the vent. It sounded like someone was moaning in pain or something. All of a sudden, all the casual talking stopped in the bathroom. When I came out of the stall, everyone was gone. Either seven people had too much time on their hands for a joke, or something messed up was going on. [/pointless story]

There's still one about 45 minutes from where I live, back home.

There's one about twenty minutes from here. It's down the street from Cid's house, actually.

I haven't been there for at least a year and a half. I'd like to go there, but we usually end up waiting until movies come out on DVD to watch them these days. :p

I've seen a few of them around, but I've never been to one.

Drive-in theaters are great. Too bad they're all disappearing. :(

Neither seen nor been. Apart from the novelty, they don't seem like an insanely intelligent idea anyway.

No. I don't even think we have them here in England.

I wish we did, They seem kinda cool.

There's one about half an hour away from here.

I think the first movie I saw on one was The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Maybe it was Independance Day. I don't recall.

The most recent movie I saw on one was Goldmember. It was pretty meh.

As far as I know, it's still open. I should check it out sometime.

They only exist in films like Grease.

I love them and I have gone many times. Triple horrors are the best. There's still one around out of the three that there used to be where I used to live.

How old are you people? o__O16. First drive-byIN was a few years ago. Saw Scooby-Doo. Then went home and watched Mel Gibson go crazy with a hatchet in The Patriot on VHS. Fun night.

I'm 16 and have a drive in pretty close. Recently I was shocked to find a giant crater in the screen while I was passing by. Guess I won't be going there anytime soon, but I used to go.

I love drive-in theaters. I go to the Santa Monica Drive In (http://www.smff.com/smdi/) every chance I get. It's not a drive-in per say since you don't actually drive in, but it's still a fun outdoors movie experience.

There's a drive-in theater in my town, but I've never been. I keep bugging people but they say it's boring and cold and they don't want to.

This reminds me of that Full House episode where Stephanie drives the car into the kitchen.
