What were your memories of your prom? I'll be going to mine in June.. I'm taking Shauna, a girl I've been friends with since grade 8. She's a sweetheart, but a lot of girls dislike her because she's a.. let's just say she gets around, but as much as I disagree with what she does, I still love her to death.

Anyways, was your prom a disaster or was it fun?

Niether. I took some girl I knew but she wouldn't dance at all so I sat and stared out the window the whole time.

Sounds like a disaster/boring prom. :(

I would of picked her up and forced her to dance. Hell, you're in the mob, why didn't you make her?

Well, I wouldn't call it a disaster, since no one died.

I was planning on going to prom this year, but it turned out to be the same date as my sisters wedding, so I'll just get to go to senior prom next year. :)

I was already going to uni by the time my senior prom came around. I never wanted to go back to that school again. At least not for a long while.

I went to my senior prom. It was basically all the pretty girls from our school wearing dresses that didn't flatter their figures and comparing nail jobs. But I looked hot, so what's it matter? It was a waste of cash for me, because even my FRIENDS, the people who said they were DYING at the prom the year before to have me there sat on their butts and didn't do anything all night.

My sister is going this year, her junior year, and she'll probably have a blast because her friends are cooler than mine. Or at least they mean it when they tell you they came to party and not sit around drinking watered down punch and ... not talking.

I remember being annoyed by my friends trying to convince me to go. So I guess my prom was fairly crappy up until I didn't go. Then it was awesome.

More people need to skip supposedly "important" events in their lives.

I was going to go to TheAbominatrix's prom with a guy I'd had a crush on since 7th grade. And then, one day in Economics class BJ said his girlfriend was going to prom... with her other boyfriend, and before I knew it I was going to prom with him instead. Oops! xD

BJ and I went to prom in high pick up truck and hung out with our friends and had fun. It was a casino theme and he won a lot of fake money at blackjack. Some of our friends did karaoke, and I wore my hemp Converse, so my friends that wore their Converse did a little dance with me.

BJ and I left early to go on a limo ride in our friends limo, but they wanted to be alone after awhile so the two of us got into his truck and went and sat in it at the beach. Time kept going and going and going... and then it was morning. We drove through the Burger King he worked at so he could thank the person who took over his morning shift, and we ordered a large water.

Then BJ took me home and my mom said (jokingly) that the neighbors who saw me coming in at 10am in my prom dress are going to think I'm a whore. xD

The four year anniversary of our prom and thus our relationship is Thursday.

Me and some friends went as the Village People. I was the Construction worker.

I never made it to the after-ball though. I think I must've got abducted by aliens or captured by the U.S government or something. :(

6th Form Ball: Sucked, because I went with my girly friends, who wanted to do girly things like dance. Meh. I ate, kicked up a fuss about my math teacher's wife wearing a fur coat, and then spent the rest of the night playing with candles and helium and gameboy in the corner. I had to hide because people kept telling me I looked good, which made me want to punch them in the face. At least there was Placebo.

7th Form Ball: Much better, as almost everyone in 'the group' came this time [dammit, Panzerknacker] and therefore I got to pass notes and things instead of be pounced upon by dancemongerers. The day after was MUNA, too. Ha, I feel old. I wore my skirt from this to Joe's Family's Thanksgiving dinner last year yay! xD

Daniel, do you have pictures that I don't have from the ball?

This has bizarre implications which might illustrate why I'm a hypocrite (read the girl ask guy out thread). Then again I did say I would just go out once with a woman who asked me out. Also it was years ago, but still:

I took karate classes twice a week. On the Tuesday class I was approached by one of the students -- the second oldest in our group, and the oldest female. She was graduating this (that) coming April and asked me if I wanted to be her date. I told her I'd think about it for a week and said yes the follow week (omg). I continued minding my own business, since she asked me and thus will be in charge of arranging most of the 'date' -- transportation, accomodation, and the corsage/flowers. All I had to do was pick it up on the day of the prom.

On the day of the prom I spent the entire day at a Wendy's restaurant preparing it for its premiere opening day. It took longer than expected so I had to leave the two (2) employees there to finish the work on their own (a manager and an employee). I told them in advance too. So I don't feel bad. I picked up the flowers, and proceeded to go to her house about twenty minutes early (I would've arrived ten minutes late nowadays). She was already dressed. In hindsight, it is likely she was dressed at least an hour to three before I arrived xD.

I met her parents, her dog, her friends who would be going with me, blah blah. Piled into a car and drove to other parents who continued their banter until it was time to go to the hall. Pictures were taken, banter, etc. We were loud and talkative until dinner, at which point oddly we were silent the entire time. They started playing dance music or hip/hop or whatever was popular at the time around the time we finished dinner, but we continued talking until we had properly rested. My date started to dance on her own at first, because I wasn't done resting. However we did do that silly slow dance stuff just about ever slow song they played.

Highlight of the dancing night was when I did a handstand spin around (1990 to those in the know).

After the prom we stumbled into a hotel. One of the parents had rented a room for the night, and we had to fit....oh man, 8 people into that room. Yes it's illegal. So we were sneaky and went in the elevator in two groups. Broke out the alcohol and drank it illegally (I was 19), played truth or dare until I passed out from alcohol consumption, and went to bed.

For a long while my date joked that she slept in a bed with a guy and a girl.

I never went to my own school's prom. I dispised the community there.

My prom was all right, I just went with a friend and had a good time. I'm not much into dancing, and it was really expensive, so really I don't think it was worth it.

Daniel, do you have pictures that I don't have from the ball?
Probably, but there's no way in hell I'm giving those out, I looked worse than I normally do, and that's saying a lot.

But yeah, obvioiusly from Calliope's post and question you can tell I went. I went solo, I never did get the point of taking a friend when they already have their own invite anyway. Who cares if you're going alone so long as you have a lot of friends who are also going? Oh well. I spent most of the 7th form school ball tapping my foot, talking with the people in my group of friends, getting photos taken, having an ice cube fight with Danielle (haha, that was so great) and worrying about Samantha because Stuballs was being a jerk.

I don't want to go to mine anymore but my stupid mum is now making me go because we already paid for my dress, bag and heels :-( GEMMA NOT HAPPY! Three of my best friends aren't going, I have no date and if I don't go then my other best friend will be all alone *sigh* and our other 'friend' is going and we know that she's going to try and tag along all night when we hate her two-faced manpiultive lying two-timing ass. It's going to be crap I just know it.

I was basically forced to go with my then girlfriend even thou I really didn't want too. I don't like to dance, at all.

Once we got there, it was ok, but then all her friends wanted to leave and she got all stupid and emotional. It started out good, but then went bad. It was also annoying to go to places and have old people want to take our picture cause we were dressed up. Like they haven't seen anyone dressed up before.

Anyway, this is a word of wisdom for all you highschoolers out there. PROM IS THE MOST OVER RATED THING IN HIGH SCHOOL! Seriously, you won't miss a damn thing by going, and if you do go, you'll see it isn't any different from any other dance you went to, and you probably won't have any special memory from that night that eclipses all others. Unless you do something I probably can't say on this forum, but I didn't do that on prom night anyway.

Junior prom - Spent a lot of money on hair and make up and a dress. Got stood up by my boyfriend and went with my Mulder action figure instead. It was an alright night, my friends made me happy and I liked freaking people out by how different I looked. I was effing miserable though. Though I found out later my boyfriend officially left me for his internet girlfriend that night.

Senior prom - I went because of a promise I made as a freshman. I didnt have a date, but my friends and I had a blast.

I don't have pictures, but I had a blast. I wore a red dress, and went with my boy :) In his red hot firebird.

Beautiful dinner at the melting pot, they have the BEST dessert...

A la prom, we had a great time dancing, and we started kissing in the middle of the prom and no one told us to break it up, they were just like, aww how cute.

Then we had a fantastic night after the prom ^_^;

My GCSE Prom was great. I went with a guy I'd had a crush on since Year 8, he knew how I felt but had always wanted to be just friends, which was cool with me. He was a great laugh to go with and I shared a limo with him and 6 of our other friends. We also danced alot at the prom.

Also, we had a 'vote for the top 5 best dress's' competition...I got 4th! Out of 80! Go me *does a little dance* ooooh my dress was gorgeous :D Shame I don't have a picture of it :(

So yes I really enjoyed my prom, but best was the after-prom party that one of the nicer 'popular' girls had at (literally, I'm not joking) her parents mansion. She invited the entire year, anyone could come and basically everyone did come! :D Great times...

I can't remember what it was that I was doing when my prom happened. I think I was off somewhere, having an adventure... at least, I'd like to think so. Most likely, I really was, but I'm not sure. I wasn't in school most of the time my final semester of high school since I only had one class.

At our school, we don't get to pick our dates ourselves, so we have a lottery. So I've always ended up with a person I didn't know. It wasn't exactly the best nights of my life, but I got to meet and talk to some new people. :p And girls are incredibly sexy at proms.

It's just scary, the thought of wearing a dress!!! I feel like I'm way too little/young to wear a dress! :(

Prom is next year for me and I'm not too terribly interested. I've never gone to a dance that wasn't mandatory (what's up with having a mandatory graduation dance at the end of 8th grade?) I've only ever worn a tux once it my life for a wedding in which I was a jr. groom's man or something like that and it was horribly uncomfortable, but that might have been because it was in a building with no air-conditioning, it was 80-some degrees, and there were loads of candles right behind me.

Honestly, though, I don't see why prom is supposed to be so magnificent. Unless I have a girlfriend at the time (knowing me that's unlikely) I don't think I'll be going. This year prom costs $75 and that's without the cost of the rented tux and the whole shabang and I really don't feel like blowing so much money to just go and sit around doing nothing.

I have promised myself that if I do end up going I'm having my sister teach me to dance first.

I went to my senior prom with a group of friends, mostly because they made it seem like a ton of fun. (My mom also reallyreally wanted me to go. ^^;)

I was going to go to my senior prom mostly out of obligation, as I skipped my junior prom. What had me actually looking forward to prom was when the theme was announced as Asian/Oriental for that year.

I found the dress the summer before, almost a year in advance, for a bargain. Picked up shoes and a bag along the way, and the day of prom, I went to my friend Jeni's house, where we did each other's hair and make-up and stuff. I think the most expensive part of prom for me was the ticket, at $35. (I think I spent under $100 total for my senior prom.)

I don't really like to dance, and I personally think prom is really overrated, but my friends and I had a good time. My mom's planning the prom at my old high school this year, and I might drop in for a few hours if I make the trip back from university in time. Most of the friends I went with last year are seniors this year, so it'll be good to see them again.

this will be my first prom coming up. to sy the least my homecoming memories haven't been the best(as a topic of conversation). my first two i went to were awful. a girl i was hoping to have a future with crushed me in front of a bunch of other people..... i was at that homecoming for approximatly 20 minutes. the other one wasn't exactly memorable as a different girl i "went" with kinda ignored me. thankfully i finally found a woman who cares for me. hopefully this prom will be the best damce that i've ever been to.

I am definately not going to my schools prom... not point, those dance things get loud.... I get a headache, become snappish, and will regret each snip I made. *shrug*

Mom doesn't like my attitude though.. she likes all the pompous stuff that happens like that.. personally all those "traditions" and "pomp" is a bunch of crap.(Now if I had a girlfreind I may go to prom... afterall I do lvoe to dress up.. and we can have fun there or anywhere else.. so why not there where we have an excuse to drain our parents pockets, but I dont' got a GF(either kind)).

See what I mean? Ugly.
*sighs* A knee length, red Chun Li dress. With a huge slit. I looked awful. But my date didn't seem to think so. He rather liked it. All the same. I looked horrible.
And it wasn't a nice night, either. Some fat kid with a soccer ball though he was clever and tore my slit higher until it went all the way up to my waist. I was so embarrassed. My date didn't want anyone to see, so he carried me around with the broken side against him. I protested, but oh well.
After that everyone thought we were a couple. *sighs* Oh, the naivety.

My senior prom, oddly enough, was on 4/20. No, there weren't any drugs involved, but the girl I went with had a boyfriend, and he came along with the group after the dancing and stuff was over. Needless to say, it was very awkward, if nothing else.

I'll never go to my prom. Why

1. Most importantly Ratiasu my lovely little angel () lives all the way in Illnois and unless by some strange stoke of luck she gets here or I get there I'm not going I'm going to ask someone else out! But I knew this going into this realtionship so no regrets!

2. I can't dance.

3. I'd probably be scared to death and do something I'll be ashamed of the rest of my life. I'm terrible socially everywhere I go offline.

Good enough reason for me.

My prom is on the 24 of June. In grade 8 my friend had me for a back up for a grade 8 dance. Anywho by grade 9 she and another friend fought for me to be their back ups (Don't I feel love? -_-;) Anywhio the other won...This year, my grade 12 year, we were in the Caf, and we were talking about prom, and she wa slike "Bobby, you are going with me right?" I was like sure. SO yeah, I am going with a friend, though I HATE dressing up. The funny thin gis that people spend a lot of money on dresses that they wear for one night. also they go to the prom for maybe an hour, then go out and get drunk. what a waste, but hey, it is their money.

He's kind of weird. Pyscho. You know, normal by our standards. Heh...), but I said no. He's still going though.
But, is it really that big of a waste of time? I NEED TO KNOW!!! *cries pathetically*

My junior prom was a blast. All the DJ was playing was rap and that irked me that he decided that he was ONLY going to play rap. =/ So my friends and I requested ( annoyed him to death until he said okay ) some hard mosh songs and we slam danced our way through the hip shakers and booy grinders. ^_^ My friend wore a kilt. Smexah.
I didn't attend my Senior prom because Myles wasn't able to be there and . . . I was going to be the only dateless one there. At least my junior year we declared we were an orgy instead of 'single, dateless losers.'

It kinda saddens me that I never had a date for a dance, ever. I think I've only slow danced three times in my life too. . . . beh.
