Had my birthday yesterday, and I'm 20 now. It made me think of the years of unemployment and life wasting years spent in a cheap flat somewhere in the UK.

I'd like to go abroad after i finish uni, but I have no clue how to go about it. Anyone here moved abroad or just travelled the world before settling down?

Hey! Happie belated birthday!! After uni, I'm going to marry a rich guy and live a life of luxury without doing any work forever and ever.

Oh. :(

I'm not shallow!!! No way!!

Yeah, I'm from the United States. I just turned 20 last month. I've wasted years being unemployed all this time, and I'm an Uni student. And I'm clueless on where I want to go in life. :)

You're lucky - I'm 21.

Just remember: life begins at 40 (which of course is total rubbish).

I don't want to be 20, ever. The idea of becoming a responsible adult rather than an irresponsible teenager scares me.

It's even scarier when it actually happens.

I can imagine. So do you feel responsible and stuff now or are you forevr going to be young and care free?

Oh, you young pups! All this, "Gad! I just turned 20 stuff!" Makes all us 25 year olds feel like we should just give up! Wait until you realize you've wasted the first five years of your twenties.

*Sigh* - It's all downhill from here.

Thats so true. I'm 22 and I'm still wondering what to do with my life and if what I want ever has any chance of ever happening and this and *worry worry...* The older you get the worse stuff like that is. :)

I'm not shallow!!! No way!! Good plans, babe, good plans  That shall be my backup plan.

But my real plan will be to become rich and <s>beautiful (oh, I already am)</s> and go out and explore the world with my beautiful hubby <3

...And do hot exotic guys and girls every once in a while

PS, happy late birthday ^_^

That's a bit of a bummer...I'm not rich and I'm too lazy to get a job.
Oh well, if anyone is looking for a poor (but intelligent) layabout, I'll be waiting for ya.

I'm 20 and a half, and about to graduate from a prestigious UK university. The degree probably won't help me get a job, though. Probably just another degree...

Everyone I know who's gone abroad has done so through a university exchange program.

Whoops. too late for that now  damn uni, didn't tell me about foreign placements.

Not to worry, I'm sure i'll win the lottery or something. :D

No, that's "Life begins at 60, and then you're dead", which is a rather lame attempt to squeeze some humor out of the original English old wives taleŠ.

Why do people need to make decisions that will effect the next 50+ years of their life when they have only lived 20?

And happy B-Day

I turned 18 a couple of months ago, at that time I didn't know what the hell to do.
But luckily for me, I'm attending a Theater School, Monday.
What I'm going to do afterwards... why worry about that now?

:)

Age cannot save you from love,
But love can save you, in a certain degree, from age.

How cheesy.
