sometimes its good to listen to, but then it gets kinda old. i mean with the guitarist just playing power chords and sweep picking, and the drumer plays as fast as he can, and the singer is screaming, it gets old after a while.

i like children of bodem, shadows fall, mudvayne. just to name a few.

I do like Death Metal.
Even though I'm not that big a fan of pure Death Metal,
I really like some bands who are mainly death metal,
but have lots of other influences aswell.
Like:

Atrocity
Die Apokalyptischen Reiter(excluding their new stuff)
Eisregen
Oathean
Opeth
Orphaned Land

As far as I'm concerned, only bands like Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Dying Fetus etc. fall into the category of death metal. I don't listen to it - I can't stand it.

I do, however, like black metal (Children of Bodom), and Heavy Metal (Judas Priest), and most other types of metal. I really like Killswitch Engage at the moment, though they're leaning towards the softer side of metal. :p

Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth (well they're are black metal really).
All great bands.

Oh & Akercoke (sp?) & Emperor as well.

Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth (well they're are black metal really).
Well, none of those are really black metal either.

I got into the band Death through CKY, their later stuff is great. Not fond of the earlier "Danny Filth" vocals. Malevolent Creation are damn good from what I've heard too, but I can't stand all these bands that play half a song death metal and the other emo. Tis madness I tell thee.

Listen to REAL death metal and most of these bands are more musically adept than most modern music. Listen to Death, Atheist, Cynic, or Necrophagist, or some melodic death metal (really good songwriting, awesome solos) like In Flames. Children of Bodom isn't really Death Metal, more like power metal. Shadows Fall is metalcore. MudVayne is pretty much Nu Metal.

I like a bit of Death Metal, I love Cradle of Filth :fpton:
But id like to hear more bands.

Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine
Cold was my soul
Untold was the pain
I faced when you left me
A rose in the rain....
So I swore to the razor
That never, enchained
Would your dark nails of faith
Be pushed through my veins again

Those lyrics seem a wee bit too... angsty for me. I much prefer other musical styles, classical being my favorite.

I love lyrics like that :fpsilly:
There so meaningful

Fold to my arms,
Hold their mesmeric sway,
And dance her to the moon

I only hear noise, and the lyrics are usally a depressing topic like pain
And no one likes that

Cradle of Filth is like the commercial pop version of Black Metal.

I dislike them because of their crap lyrics.
"TIME IS PAIN
LIFE IS TIME
I AM ANGRY
SO I'LL RHYME"
No thanks. I'm far past that stage of teenagedom.

It's fun, but I can't take it seriously as an actual tangible genre.

It depends one what is considered "Death Metal". Seeing as I don't know that, I probably don't listen to much of it.

I think the hardest stuff I listen to is Disturbed and Korn. xD

Oh wait! There's a band called Arch Enemy that's pretty awesome that I like...it doesn't get much death metalier than that.

Opeth
Awesome band. Have you heard the russian band Forest Stream? They are like Opethish Doom/Death Metal but with a slight touch of Gothic Metal.
