They have been around for a while, and of course they're not perfect. The Zephyr Song, Californication, and maybe Scar Tissue were only so-so, IMHO.

However, I am a Red Hot Chili Peppers Fan. Under The Bridge is a song I grew up with. I'm going to stop typing here, or this post on the Chili Peppers's awesomeness will get long and unruly. :)

They're fine, and I like them. But i wouldn't be annoyed if I never see them. They are rather dated (as mentioned) and they're music lacks REAL invention. But Under The Bridge is a classic.

I really like them. The only album I own is By the Way but I never get bored of it. Dosed is probably my favourite song on that.

Fantastic Band. Nice range as well, from more funky/upbeat songs to the peaceful hymns of By The Way.
Fave songs would probably be Knock Me Down, Parallel Universe, This Velvet Glove, My Lovely Man and Dosed.

Absolutely, positively great band. I love them, one of the few acts going on I still like. I love so many songs it's hard to choose just one, and a lot of people would probably recognize about 20 of their songs, weither they are fans or not.

I don't know if I put them in my top 5 favorite bands of all time, but definitely top 10, if not more.
