You know, after having to watch those yellow skinned cartoon characters for the majority of my life, I think I'm sick to death of them. In britain there were three top 100 shows that sumed it up : Top 100 Characters, Top 100 Animations, and Top 100 Kids shows. The top in each was Homer Simpson, The Simpsons and The Simpsons again.

It occured to be that The Simpsons has done something unforgivable : They've set the bar too high. After them everything that doesn't do as well is going to be considered a failure. Even Futurama, a highly enjoyable show that one would assume would by default be protected by the fact it was from the now highly-lucrative Matt Groening, was put out to sea without a paddle (cancelled in real world words).

It is a bit wierd that you can hate something for being too good? For being so popular that it just seems to sufficate anything around it that attempts to try and get in on the act like some demented poison Ivy. OK, maybe not the best of metaphors, but you get the idea.

What say you sirs/madams?

you should instead hate everything else for being too bad.

Well, I understand if people say base their opinions off the old Simpson episodes. However, if they are going crazy because of the new ones then...ugh.

I'm tired of The Simpsons. I enjoy watching the older episodes on DVD, but the new ones just don't make me laugh any more. I don't think they've set the bar too high, it's just that everyone is so used to watching The Simpsons that they won't give anything else a chance.

Futurama - in my opinion - is a far, far better show. Unfortunately, they cancelled it, and not many people cared.

They considered The Simpsons a kids show?
That's horrible.

I haven't really seen the new episodes of The Simpsons,
but the older episodes are just unbeatable.
Futurama is also extremely good.

The new episodes of the Simpsons are weird. They're still funny, but they're wrapped up in a dry husk of petty staleness. It's like having humor artificially injected into my bloodstream. It's very unfulfilling.

The ploy changes about eight times in the first half of each new episodes and since they cant make any relatively witty comments they just go for the more unbelieveably stupid funny jokes approach, minus the funny. I prefer Futurama, Family guy and south park by far.

Star Wars Monopoly is better than Simpsons' Chess.

Wot?

I swear this is the last time I buy Simpsons' Christmas Boogie. I swear!

Not true at all. Many people were outraged when Futurama was cancelled. Rightfully so, as Futurama stayed good right around the time The Simpsons were running dry.
