I've only played the newer Sonic Games. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were decent, Heroes was crap. The speed factor in it is certainly interesting, and I like using Sonic/Shadow because of how they play, but generally it's just kind of blah.

I loved Sonic 1, 2 and 3 for the Megadrive, and then Sonic and Knuckles came along and blew the others out of the water. But wait! You can lock S & K onto Sonic 3 and play a combined adventure of epic proportions? Now that's genius.

I enjoyed Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast, but Sonic Adventure 2 was a complete waste of time for me. The graphics were excellent, but the level design was awful, and the fact that you had to play loads of stages with Tails and Knuckles really put me off.

I think sonic (was) great
Sonic 1,2,3 and adventure were really good
But Adventure 2 was pitiful and Heros was awful
But the advance games are ok but not great

I've only really played the Megadrive series, but Sonic 1 and 2 are a couple of my favourite games ever. I love them. I liked Sonic 3 too, especially the big ring zones, but Sonic 1 and 2 were the best. Sonic 2 was probably the very peak. Chemical Plant Zone <3

Agreed. I didn't mind Tails so much though, as I rather enjoyed those levels. The Knuckles ones were just tedious in 2 though.

"Sonic and Knuckles" are so far my favorite Sonic game for the Genesis. I liked it mostly of the music, and the crazy levels. :D

I loved Sonic Heroes. It totally rocked socks for me. I don't know what I would do without it. I wonder how different looked on Xbox. Or maybe Xbox Live...

(If you did, I'm going to stalk you and build a shrine in my house)I had a Sega CD and a 32X. I thought Chaotix was actually pretty fun. I tried emulating it, but the control scheme is crazy enough with a controller; having to use a keyboard helps nothing.

Anyway, Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the 2nd greatest game EVAR. The story is simple, but works, and the music is excellent. The Final boss theme is one of my favourite tunes. :]

Sonic has been on its ups and downs, and in my humble opinion its on a down...
I liked Sonic 1 and 2 but I think 3 is iffy...
Knuckles Kaotix I can live without, 3D blast is alright and Spinball is damn hard.
Sonic adventure is okay, but I didnt like Sonic adventure 2 [Shadow is WAY over rated]
the Sonic advance series is crap and so is Sonic heroes

it seems that Sonic has become the Gen X mario though, and so generic as of late.
I miss the SatAM days [yeh I see the flames a comin]
