What's your favourite Guitar Riff in all the rocking world.

Mine, is a classic....

Layla - Derek and the Domino's.

Clapton is a genius.

Clapton didn't write that riff, you goose! Dwayne Allman did, and he played most of the lead part as well!

Anyway, I'd go for the intro to Johnny B. Goode, by Chuck Berry.

Metallica - To Live Is To Die (Riff @ 4:31).
The eyelids were quivering on the first listen.

WOW! Is my face red.

Clapton is still a genius though, I could try and get out of it by saying I never specifically said he wrote it, but I would be lying to myself and to all of you.

There are too many out there. Here are a few, but I can't pick a favourite.

It has to be either the riff at the start of guns and roses 'aint it funny' or the one about 3 minutes into 'sweet child of mine'

I'd have to agree. Great song altogether, too. It might be my favorite Metallica song to this day.

The one those guys who everyone knows about stole from those guys who nobody knows about. You know the one.

A lot of Dream Theater's stuff. Especially on their 2003 album, Train of Thought. It's so insane. Also a lot of things that Randy Rhoads have done is insane as well.

Perhaps the riff on The Call of Ktulu by Metallica, it's the one quite into the song. There is use palm muting in it it is done & then gradually gets a bit higher... I don't know the time though.

The whole intro to "The way young lovers do." by Jeff Buckley. It's the Live at Sin-e legacy version. Truely amazing. But I'm sure he has some other amazing riffs too.

So many good guitarists out there, I could also name a lot from the Tea Party - Jeff Martin is a genious on the guitar, and on other instruments (i.e. sitar, oud, etc.) expecially when he uses a violin bow on his guitar in Save Me. xD That's awesome.
