The four nations have for a while, been peaceful. However, The nation of Alexandria under the rule of Queen Brahne has become more hostile, and soon declares war on nation after nation, who become powerless under her might and commits horrid atrocities. Her daughter escapes her to try and stop her but unwittingly gets involved with a monkey boy and various other people who want to stop what Brahne is doing. However, Things extend far beyond her need for conquest.

You start out as a simple thief, hired to kidnap Queen Brahne's daughter, Garnet. The kidnap is somewhat successful, as the princess wants to go wllingly. After escaping a vile forest they were stranded in after their escape, (the ship was shot down) they make their way to a small village. There, they learn of the Queen's devious intentions, making mages as her soldiers of war. They continue on to Lindlum, another great nation, regency under Regent Cid, Garnet's uncle after advoiding a assasination by one the Queen's mages. There the gang learns of a festival which the thief Zidane and mage Vivi, decide to join in while Garnet discusses her mother with her uncle. The regent reveals he hired the thieves to kidnap her, as he knew it'd be the only way he'd get her out of her mother's tyrannical grip. The festival concludes, but the victory is short-lived, as a Burmecian soldier arrives wounded, pleading for reinforcements to help Burmecia fight off Alexandria! He collapses dead, and Garnet insists she must see her mother, to talk sense into her. Her uncle shoots that down, saying it's too dangerous and that she should stay with him and the others. However, Garnet knocks out him and the gang with a sleeping draught, leaving with her bodyguard, Steiner. Zidane and the others wake up and immediately realized what's happened. The regent asks Zidane and the gang to find Garnet, which takes Zidane from the castle, across the plains of King Cid, through Gismulke's Grotto, to Burmecia. The city is completely destroyed, as the gang ventures though the rubble. They however stumble upon Beatrix, the Queen's bodyguard who easily defeats them all, leaving them all but dead. This is when the true plot begins to unfold, as Kuja, the Queen's assistant, appears and discusses plans to take down the next great nation, Cleyra.......

Could I wrap this up in part two tommorow? I've summarized pretty good I think. Remember, Zidane is currently defeated but not dead with the gang which includes Vivi the mage, and Freya the dragonknight. At this point, you could have an extra member, Quina. Garnet and Steiner are currently on their way to North Gate, to get to the Queen.
