Do I really need to explain why it's so awesome?

I hate myself and am waiting, patiently, for somebody who I somehow don't hate, and I will sacrifice the things that I hate for that person. Those hated things, of course, being me.

Then at least I'll be able to say, "I did this world some good."

Caspian
05-04-2005, 03:47 AM
Caspian is sort of a regal name. Most people associate it with Prince Caspian from the Chronicles of Narnia series, but I actually more directly took the name from the Caspian Sea.

Camanche

I adopted this username by accident, kind of. I was thinking of an entirely different name to use, which sounded like "Camanche" but I couldn't exactly remember the name I originally wanted to use, and when I tried to remember, "Camanche" was all that came out.

......So that's the lame story of my username. :)

TheAbominatrix

Mandee made mine up when she installed WinMX on my computer ages ago. It stuck. It's mainly an abomination/dominatrix merge.

Heh, and here I thought your username was some twisted homage/quip towards The Matrix. XD

There is another one, although I don't know if the mods want to revivie it. It's only a couple months old...:D (http://www.eyesonff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57475&page=3&pp=30&highlight=how+did+you+get+your+username)
Anyway, I got my name from a book I wrote in 6th :)

It's from FFX-2 :shifty: I'm thinking of changing it... seriously, when I was signing up I was just searching for a name, and this is what came. Sad, is it not?

There's quite a story behind mine.

Whats not to like about strawberries?

udsuna

"Udsuna" loosely means "unity" or "consensus"... it was originally a SN I used for Starcraft, way back in the day when I was fond of the Zerg (alien hive mind) thing.

starlet
05-04-2005, 05:27 AM
I used my middle name....but i added the 'let'. So my middle name's just Star. Another fun but boring fact about me :D

Dingo Jellybean
05-04-2005, 05:29 AM
I made up this name when I was 12. My grandmother had bought me a koala and a kangaroo (both plushes) in the vicinity of about $150 AU ($90 US at the time). I named them Jellybean and Dingo, respectively, and the name stuck with me since I had the internet.

Well, I had the internet when I was 11, but it wasn't until 12 that I started using this alias online.

And here I'da thunk it'd have to do with FFVI.

But I don't get what "udsuna" has to do with the Zerg.

I started out with the name Terra*Aeris which basically was just because Terra and Aeris are two of my favorite characters. Then I changed it to Starry Relm. Starry represents what a dreamer I am and Relm represents my artistic side (so Relm as in Relm from FFVI). I'm just so creative. :p

Rase
05-04-2005, 06:32 AM
Well,my real name is Ryan, and when I was living in Ketchikan, I had a friend named Chase.

Since then, I've used it for everything from online usernames to names of characters in stories for English class.

Exciting, no?

My name is...something..?
05-04-2005, 06:41 AM
I got mine back in 10th grade when I was writing in English class and the substitute asked me what my name was, but I was so busy that when I said my name I got what I was writing and what I was saying mixed up and I ended up saying "My Name is...Something". Almost got in trouble for it because she thought I was being "sassy". Who says sassy anymore?

FF9, I could swear someone mentioned something about a character being a "meat puppet"

And here I'da thunk it'd have to do with FFVI.

But I don't get what "udsuna" has to do with the Zerg.
The Zerg are like an insect race. Hive mind . . . unity . . . get it?

Amarant Odinson
05-04-2005, 07:27 AM
My user name is the name of my godling/GM character that I use when I play Rifts. The first part of the name I took from FFIX and the surname was simple. My character was the son of Odin hence the name Amarant Odinson.

Uh... udsuna means "unity/consensus"... it's a word that applies very, VERY well to an alien HIVE mind. Because they are many operating as one. Which is directly related to a "unity/consensus"... in most direct translation, the word "udsuna" is "we are of like mind".

(also, it occurs to me, and I HOPE I'm right on this, that you're just pretending to be dumb for amusement value)

When Cain killed Abel, God told him to leave that place. So he did. And he went to the land of Nod.
Thats where I got my name from. :D

When my brother first played FF1 back when I was like 10... probably younger. In fact I'm sure I was younger. His first time consisted of two fighters, a white mage, and a black mage. The fighters were named Krim and Krom. Ever since then I had some sorta fixation with those names. Originally I changed Krim to Krin and then spelled it Qrynne. Which was my first user-name ever. I registered it on AIM and MSN but faded away from that existance. But before that happened, I had two names registered. I added Vy to Krom to spice it up. I tried to get into an online community using Qrynne. But for some god-awful reason it was taken (on Napster). So I used Vykrom. And got to know a LOT of people and became ever so popular on that name. So I eventually just quit using Qrynne altogether. Now I'm Vykrom everywhere. The two message boards I frequent I just use Vyk, but that's merely short for Vykrom. Everyone I know online knows me as Vykrom... And... that's me. In fact I'm more used to being called Vyk than I am Matt (my real name of course). Note for those that care, "Vyk" rhymes with "spike". Some people don't get that for some reason.

I just said Fort because I prefer to protect others than my self. Other than that, I'm just the usual gamer willing to throw himself in front of raging bullets to save some random person who happens to be playing. Other other than that, I just waste my time. :D

T-MaN
05-04-2005, 05:38 PM
My *real* name starts with a "T", and I just watched a whole day full of Superheroes, Ninjas, Lord of the Rings, and the Incredibles (just for the hell of it :p ), and I decided to become one.
So I made my name to be T-MaN! The protector of Strawberry Ice Cream!
*Yea, I watched all those shows in one day. And yes, it was during a holiday :shifty:"

God dawned the title of undeadhero to me and now I'm doomed to forever do hero-y type stuff. :(

Xander

I liked the name and called my main FF characters it when I played FFIX and X, and then took the name for myself. I didn't get it from one particular source though. ^_^

I believe I got my name from a character shrine somewhere. Now that I think about it, I can't remember from which series / what character...

I started randomly getting called it around 2 years ago by my friends. It stuck. It beats people calling me by my surname all the time :)
