So I took the sat's this morning. The big changes aren't all that dreadful that people have made it out to be. The essay was really easy, I finished the whole two page thing in just under 25 minutes(alloted time). It usually takes me an hour or two to write that much about a topic.
So, discuss.

I hope I did good, I don't want to take them again if i don't need to. Five hours of testing is way too long.

I'm so glad I'm past that stage of SAT and AP testing. It must suck to be in High School right now. :p

In my high school, we toop the PSAT, then the ACT. Still can't figure that out.

But it was cool, 'cause I was one of the highest scorers in the history of the school for both :D .

My problem with the essay tests is that I don't have enough time to write all the drafts they want me to, so I just write one and hope I don't mess up.

They give us the PSAT's too and the ACT and AP tests are optional.

Yeah, they're constantly giving us standardized tests. I dont know about other states but in CT they have CAPT tests sophmore year where they give us an essay thing in just about every subject math, history, science(comes with a lab project), and english. Like the english teachers don't already shove enough essays in our face.

SAT = stupid American test. I remember those wasted mornings. I got excellent scores, excellent grades, but the US colleges I applied to wouldn't take me because I'm not sufficiently disadvantaged...

Am I the only one who found the SAT fun?

I didn't find the SATs fun, exactly, but they weren't bad. I was indifferent, for the most part. Now, the ACT and APs sucked.

Anyway, five hours? Holy /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif.

five hours? man that sucks!

Here in the UK we dont have SATs. We have something else, dunno what they're called now, what with the education system being re-vamped all the time.

Anyhoo, i did what i usually do for my exams- the bare minimum, and passed.

I curse you and your family to death... in a fire for the next 5 generations for such a blasphemous statement.

I know how you feel, Del. I was the only one in my class who liked the SATs. However, I didn't find the actual taking-it part fun. :p

The SAT was neither bad nor was it fun...somewhat in the middle for me. I didn't score that well on it (only in the 1300's) but it means nothing! Nothing at all. It's really a worthless test.

I took it because I had to. I don't derive some sort of perverse pleasure from taking standardized tests. Besides, within the Arts, true knowledge of a subject can only be guaranteed through essay writing.

No! Multiple choice tests are the only way to discern true knowledge!

I liked taking the SAT, which is good since I tookl it a few times throughout my school days, but I didn;t have to write an essay back then. I took the GRE last year and it has essays now and I just kinda half-assed my way through the essays because they were dumb.
