i changed from a Red-Mage to a Monk with my character, but i can't use the Cure that i learned for the Red-Mage Job. can i equip abilities from another Job as a Support? when i change Jobs in FFTA, i am allowed to equip abilities from another Job as Suuport. i'd be mad if i FFXI doesn't work this way...

You can only use abilities from your job. If you have a subjob you can use those abilities too. Good news, you can switch back to Red Mage and you'll have all those abilities again.

i can't have my current Job's abilities and another's...unless it's a misinterpretation. but i doubt it's not another kick in the face...

What would be the point of being able to have every ability from every job all at once? At any given time, you get your job's ability and your sub-job's, nothing more, but that's a lot more than a lot of mmo's give. Like it or lump it.

okay, i just read the subjob FAQ in GameFAQs. not really all that i want to know, but it'll suffice. sorry if i ranted and annoyed anyone :p .

Its like this..

WHM learns Poisona at lvl 6. So if you sub WHM, you can use Poisona at lvl 12. So the subjob is half of your main job, and you can use any magic and abilities your sub has along with your main job's. Equips however is a no. You wont find a Red Mage equipping a Lance even though it subs DRG unless the lance lets you.

MMO's are evil.They are made to take your money and then they have the nerve to charge you for the software that can actually be easily downloaded.I got to a point wer ei felt like i was paying SE so i can work.Meaning work meaning full time job.

If you dont have a subjob yet, you cannot learn any of your Red Mage abilites yet. if you have the Subjob quest completed, you can put RDM as your subjob, but you wont have Cure until your MNK is level 6 since RDM Cure is level 3. Hope that makes any sense whatsoever.

ty. i'm focusing on my building my stash of money first. auctioning is great, all the items i ever placed were bought and i have just less than 4,500 Gil.
