Blitzball = Dodgeball? (film spoilers)

Does anyone recall the film Dodgeball, released in 2004? I watched it recently and discovered an uncanny resemblence to Blitzball. Vince Vaughn plays Peter La Fleur, an ex-player who now manages a failing gym who tries to hit the big time, while Ben Stiller plays White Goodman, a stuck up egotistical megalomaniac. Sound anything like Wakka and Bickson? Another common thing they shared was the time span since the underdogs won a match - 23 years!

Any thoughts?

Pure coincidence. You could probably find the same similarities in any other sports movie.

Yeah I`ve seen that film couple of months to be exact and it ruled!!

I like the part where the old guy i the wheelchar starts throwing wrenches at the team members. If only there was a scene in FF10 where wakka was teaching his students to dodge blitzballs and threw wrenches at them. Well, that wouldn't make much sense.. but.. I still think it's a GREAT idea.
