Yay, my turn! :D next question. There are two monsters in the game that have one body & two heads extending from it. Name all four of the monsters (One for each head.)

TheSpoonyBard
06-28-2005, 09:59 PM
Ying + Yang, Schizo (Left) + Schizo (Right).

Khimbar2775, in the future please wait until the person who originally asked the question responds to confirm a possible answer.

Sephitachi7
06-28-2005, 10:17 PM
Yes I believe Forest Owl is right the one you fight after the stairway in Shin-ra Mansion and the other I believe is a Dragon looking thing with two heads that you fight after drinking water and restoring your hp/mp, is Forest Owl correct?

Khimbar2775
06-29-2005, 03:02 AM
FoerstOwl is correct

Sephitachi7
06-29-2005, 04:21 AM

Oh, I'm sorry (eventhough I'm kinda doing it again here). My apologies to everyone.

TheSpoonyBard
06-29-2005, 08:40 PM
Name all the characters in the game who are left-handed.

Holy_Aeris
06-29-2005, 09:04 PM
lol that can be anyone!!! trick question!!!

I know that Dyne is. But then so could the president, or Jesse or even Esther. Anyone could be left handed. But Dyne is for certain.

TheSpoonyBard
06-29-2005, 09:33 PM
Sorry, I shall rephrase the question.

Name all the characters in the game who hold their weapons in their left hand.

Holy_Aeris has got one of them.

Khimbar2775
06-29-2005, 11:40 PM
Cid

ff-fanatix
06-30-2005, 01:30 PM
Tifa is ambidex....does that count :D

liamo
06-30-2005, 01:32 PM

TheSpoonyBard
06-30-2005, 03:04 PM
No one has given me all the characters yet. Keep guessing.

liamo
06-30-2005, 03:31 PM
-.- someone just mention all the characters in final fantasy along with the npcs so we can move on

Holy_Aeris
06-30-2005, 04:00 PM
Ok so we know Dyne does, and Cid does, and i think Sephiroth does aswell??

But what about Tifa and Cait Sith???

TheSpoonyBard
06-30-2005, 04:07 PM
Dyne is correct, as it Cid. Sephiroth is wrong. Tifa, Cait Sith and any other ambidexterous characters do not count. There is one more character you need to find. Good luck.

Khimbar2775
06-30-2005, 05:08 PM
is the third person an npc? Perhaps Elena?

TheSpoonyBard
06-30-2005, 08:17 PM
Khimbar2775 is on the right track...

Khimbar2775
06-30-2005, 08:28 PM
oooh! Tseng?

TheSpoonyBard
06-30-2005, 08:33 PM
Nope, but still on the right track.

Khimbar2775
06-30-2005, 09:07 PM
oooh OMFG ITS GOTTA BE RENO!! why didnt it hit me before??

TheSpoonyBard
06-30-2005, 09:14 PM
At last! The left-handed people are Cid, Dyne and Reno. Khimbar2775 to ask the next question.

Khimbar2775
06-30-2005, 09:25 PM
Some one else take the initative. I cant think of one right now. but... has anyone played Xenogears?

BG-57
06-30-2005, 09:40 PM
I've played Xenogears. Great game. But isn't this the wrong forum? :greenie:

Question: What materia does Cloud have equipped in his flashback where he fights monsters with Sephiroth?

TheSpoonyBard
06-30-2005, 09:43 PM
Pre-emptive.

Cruise Control
06-30-2005, 09:45 PM
um... lightning???

BG-57
06-30-2005, 10:00 PM
You are correct ForestOwl! :)

And the odd thing is that in the present, Cloud doesn't have Pre-Emptive yet. You have to get it later. Guess Shin-Ra confiscated it or something. :rolleyes2

Sephitachi7
06-30-2005, 11:55 PM
Remember Cloud wasn't the one who fought by Sephiroth's side but Zack, so it must've been Zack that had it equipped

Khimbar2775
07-01-2005, 12:03 AM
BAH! technicalities.......

Khimbar2775
07-03-2005, 03:33 PM

Cruise Control
07-08-2005, 04:28 AM

Saiyan Knight
07-08-2005, 04:36 AM
Free question, im too tired to think of a decent question.

Sephitachi7
07-10-2005, 08:26 PM
Ok, if anybody wants to respond, what is the name of the first boss you fight?

Holy_Aeris
07-10-2005, 08:29 PM

Sephitachi7
07-11-2005, 04:42 AM
Good job Holy_Aeris, your turn (you got it on both threads!)

Sword
07-13-2005, 07:25 PM
OK no one has said anything in few days so I'll go.

How much GP do you get for a Hi Potion when you win a chocobo race?

Sephitachi7
07-13-2005, 09:32 PM

Sword
07-15-2005, 07:19 PM
OK OK I've been away.

You are correct! The answer was 15GP. Your turn.

Sephitachi7
07-15-2005, 10:17 PM

Sephitachi7
07-19-2005, 04:25 AM
You are right. Wow you know quite a lot, i'm impressed. Your turn.

TheSpoonyBard
07-21-2005, 09:44 PM
Doesn't look like Khimbar2775 will be back anytime soon and this thread is slipping.

Q: What is Shinra's Phrase Of The Week?

Khimbar2775
07-22-2005, 12:05 PM
You are right. Wow you know quite a lot, i'm impressed. Your turn.
why thank you! :D but i do believe i am stumped here... Wouldnt it be on the T.V. screen in the Shinra building with the cars in it??? or maybe somewhere else...

TheSpoonyBard
07-22-2005, 01:58 PM
You're right, it wouldn't be on the TV.

Khimbar2775
07-22-2005, 10:57 PM
hmm... *throws hands up in the air* I GIVE! i havent played in about 4 years and even then it was only continuing a game near the end, so avent even been *in* the Shin-Ra building in about 5 years.... so... yea....

TheSpoonyBard
07-22-2005, 11:23 PM
Alright, but I'll let the question stand in case anyone else wants to have a go at it. In the meantime I'll ask another question.

Q: What is the total number of steps in the Shin-Ra Building staircase? To refresh your memory it is the staircase Tifa suggests you enter the Shin-Ra building when you arrive to rescue Aeris.

redxiiii
07-22-2005, 11:33 PM
Do you mean floors or actual steps? If floors I`ll say.............8 but for stair I`ll say 64

Khimbar2775
07-23-2005, 02:23 AM
flights of stairs? i wanna say 60... or what are we looking for?
Do you mean floors or actual steps?

TheSpoonyBard
07-23-2005, 12:14 PM
I want the actual number of steps in the entire staircase. Not the number of floors, not the number of flights of stairs, the number of individual steps.

Khimbar2775
07-23-2005, 12:20 PM

TheSpoonyBard
07-23-2005, 12:54 PM
It isn't that hard if you think about it logically. I'll give you a starting point. There are 8 steps per flight of stairs.

0mNiS|aSh
07-23-2005, 03:20 PM
1040. if not, then 2080. My memory is shot to h*ll

TheSpoonyBard
07-23-2005, 06:04 PM
1,040 is close.

crashNUMBERS
07-23-2005, 07:12 PM
1050?? 1060?? 1048??

TheSpoonyBard
07-23-2005, 08:52 PM
No, that's going the wrong way. There are less than 1,000 steps.

As a reminder here are the current questions as they stand

Q1: What is ShinRa's phrase of the week?
Q2: What is the total number of steps in the ShinRa Building staircase?

Khimbar2775
07-24-2005, 04:00 AM
well, cause 8 is a binary number, i would randomly guess.....1024

BG-57
07-24-2005, 04:09 AM
8 steps per flight x 2 flights per floor x 59 floors= 944 steps.

0mNiS|aSh
07-24-2005, 11:12 AM
That's how I did it, but aren't there 65 floors in the shinra building?

Khimbar2775
07-24-2005, 12:20 PM
then 1008... right?

0mNiS|aSh
07-24-2005, 12:22 PM
not right. 8x2x65=1040

BG-57
07-24-2005, 01:41 PM
There are more floors than 59, but that endless back staircase despoits you on the 59th floor.

0mNiS|aSh
07-24-2005, 01:44 PM
But isn't the president's office at the top floor, ie the 65th? The floors run all the way up

Q: What is the total number of steps in the Shin-Ra Building staircase?

BG-57
07-24-2005, 02:03 PM
There are less than 1,000 steps.

0mNiS|aSh
07-24-2005, 02:06 PM
then he probably meant only the part you HAVE to run before actually entering the insides of the shinra building, not the total number all the way to the very top.

Khimbar2775
07-24-2005, 02:19 PM
o geez, this is pointless...

Kappy
07-24-2005, 02:34 PM
Guys, it's only the number of steps in the immediate staircase you go up to the 60th floor on.
But you don't have to necessarily multiply by 59 as going up the staircase is not relevant to the 59 floors, I think. You don't actually go up 59 floors in theory, it is just many screens of stairs.

0mNiS|aSh
07-24-2005, 02:35 PM
then again, there are about 2 or 3 floors per screen. But anyway. :rolleyes2

Kappy
07-24-2005, 02:51 PM
This is more trouble than it is worth, eh. xD
I was just saying that you shouldn't multiply the amount of steps you get on one floor (if you can judge how many make a floor when going up the staircase?) by 59. You'll have to work it out by noting how many steps there are on one screen then multiplying it by the amount of screens there are to get the total number. I need to play to check the actual answer.

(Unless the amount of steps per screen are different each time, but if this was the case then the question is stupid.)

TheSpoonyBard
07-24-2005, 05:49 PM
BG-57 is correct, there are 944 steps. The back staircase does not continue past the 59th floor as you will discover when running up it. The staircase leads directly to the 59th floor door and no further.

BG-57 can ask a question now, or someone can attempt my previous question which was "What is ShinRa's phrase of the week?".

BG-57
07-25-2005, 02:20 AM
Gotta love them logic puzzles.

Question: Who else in the game does Cloud's victory move (spinning the weapon over the head) other than Cloud himself?

Ric_strife
07-25-2005, 03:23 AM
Gotta love them logic puzzles.

Question: Who else in the game does Cloud's victory move (spinning the weapon over the head) other than Cloud himself?

Easy, 2 shinra soliders, cloud showed them that pose when he was desgised as a shinra solider

BG-57
07-25-2005, 02:09 PM
Correct Ric-strife. :)

If you capture the sub and spare the crew they do that move again. It's the same guys! :D

Ric_strife
07-25-2005, 11:33 PM
Correct Ric-strife. :)

If you capture the sub and spare the crew they do that move again. It's the same guys! :D

yeh I remember, thats why I never fight them, I like them saying "now I'll never be able to use my vctory pose" :p :D

TheSpoonyBard
07-26-2005, 03:54 PM
Ric_strife, it is customary to ask a question when you have guessed an answer correctly. Will you be posting one soon?

Ric_strife
07-28-2005, 10:01 PM
Ok, sorry for the delay, did'nt know the custom, so heres my Question:

what is the name of the spirits that attack cosmo canyon and petrified Seto (Nanaki's father)?

BG-57
07-28-2005, 10:05 PM
Gi spectors?

TheSpoonyBard

Khimbar2775
08-14-2005, 09:45 PM
so i take it BG-57 is correct????

TheSpoonyBard
08-15-2005, 02:58 PM
Looks like this thread has come to a standstill.

Q: How many students does Zangan have worldwide?

BG-57
08-15-2005, 04:51 PM
I think ForeswtOwl's answer was more accurate anyway. :greenie:

Wasn't it some ridiculously large number like 256?

Drazik
08-15-2005, 07:39 PM
128 students all over the world... :greenie: correct ?

Mercen-X
08-15-2005, 08:15 PM
Exactimundo!!!

Wasn't it some ridiculously large number like 256?That's a Bitmap option: 256 colors.

TheSpoonyBard
08-15-2005, 08:21 PM
Drazik got it right so the next question is his to ask.

Drazik
08-15-2005, 08:35 PM
Q: Scarlet
"But Mr. President, please do not call it a Mako cannon."
"This new weapon will be called......" ( name of Mako cannon ??? )

That must be easy...

Mercen-X
08-15-2005, 08:59 PM
SISTER RAY!!!

Drazik
08-15-2005, 09:23 PM
Correct! So you can ask a next question… :)

Khimbar2775
09-05-2005, 04:32 PM
do we need a jump start????? If so, what is the first opportuinity you have to get an E.Skill ability?

G SpOtZ
09-05-2005, 05:05 PM
i'm thinking when you first enter the marshes, but most people can't get it because they're usually too low of a level for beta to not kill them. it's either that or right after you get the buggy.

BG-57
09-05-2005, 05:13 PM
I'm pretty sure you can get Mantra Magic from the Custom Sweepers between Kalm and the Chocobo Ranch.

Crop
09-05-2005, 05:20 PM
As soon as you come out of Midgar.

Khimbar2775
09-06-2005, 12:35 AM
yup yup, Matra Magic outside Midgar, good job BG-57 :D

BG-57
09-06-2005, 03:23 AM
OK. :)

Question: List the Turks you fight in order of most number of times to least number of times.

G SpOtZ
09-06-2005, 04:00 AM
ummm... reno rude elena? or was it reno elena rude... ahhh i dunno.

Crop
09-06-2005, 06:04 PM
Reno Rude Elena

BG-57
09-06-2005, 11:17 PM
You fight Reno in Sector 7.
You fight Reno and Rude in Gongaga.
You fight Rude in Rocket Town.
You fight Reno, Rude, and Elena in Midgar.

The totals are:

Reno (3)
Rude (3)
Elena (1)

Your go crop! :)

Khimbar2775
09-07-2005, 02:40 AM
wouldnt it be
Reno - 4
Rude - 4 and
Elena 1
Because of the Crashed Gelinka? :D

BG-57
09-07-2005, 12:35 PM
Yeah, but even if you don't fight them in all the optional battles Reno and Rude still come out tied and ahead of Elena.

Crop
09-07-2005, 07:39 PM
Could I hand my go over to someone else? (I like answering but I dont like writing them) If I cant i'll think of a question.

G SpOtZ
09-07-2005, 07:48 PM
i'll go then.

In Disc 2, when raiding Midgar, you are able to side track through the underground tunnels to visit the Shinra HQ building for a second time. What are the two items you can get by taking the long series of stairs?

BG-57
09-08-2005, 02:37 AM
Elixir and Glow Lance?

TheSpoonyBard
09-08-2005, 06:59 PM
Behemoth Horn and Elixir. The Grow Lance (it says Glow Lance when you pick it up though) is on Floor 63 and the HP Shout is on Floor 64.

G SpOtZ
09-08-2005, 10:20 PM
Forest Owl is up ^_^

TheSpoonyBard
09-09-2005, 12:44 PM
When and where do you discover who Aeris' mother is?

Light Mage
09-09-2005, 03:13 PM
In Elmyra's house, when you go there to see if Marlene is safe just after the pillar supporting Sector 7 is self-destructed.

Sepho
09-09-2005, 03:29 PM
I thought at that point, she only reveals that she's not Aeris' mother, but not who the birth mother is/was. I don't remember.

So my guess would be at the Icicle Inn before making your first trek to the Northern Crater. Or Hojo reveals it to you at some point. I think my memory is going on me, for serious.

BG-57
09-09-2005, 09:54 PM
Elmyra has a flashback where she finds a very young Aeris by her dying mother's side at the train platform. That's the first time we see Ifalna, although she appears more extensively in the Icicle Inn home movies.

TheSpoonyBard
09-10-2005, 12:08 PM
The first time you see Aeris' mother is during Elmyra's flashback, but you only discover who she was while watching the home movies at the Icicle Inn, so Sepho was right and can ask the next question.

Sepho
09-10-2005, 06:51 PM
Aaaand, I hate to do this again, but somebody else can take my turn.

G SpOtZ
09-10-2005, 08:44 PM
what monster can you morph into a luck source, and where can you find this monster? (be specific)

TheSpoonyBard
09-10-2005, 08:54 PM
Bad Raps in the Sunken Gelnika Airship. More specifically they are in the corridor where the Reno/Rude battle took place.

G SpOtZ
09-10-2005, 09:14 PM

TheSpoonyBard
09-10-2005, 09:29 PM
What are the maximum stats (HP, Attack, Defence, Magic Attack, Magic Defence) Safer Sephiroth can have?

Khimbar2775
09-13-2005, 03:14 AM
how *can* you possibly know those stats?????? other than taking notes on how powerful other attacks are in comparison with characters and mathematically deducing the damage and finding an algorithm for it all.....

TheSpoonyBard
09-13-2005, 11:40 AM
Yep, algorithms all the way.

Light Mage
09-13-2005, 12:36 PM
I would guess as much as any other character is able to have...

9999 HP 999 MP and 255 in each stat?

TheSpoonyBard
09-13-2005, 12:39 PM
MP isn't required for this question, only HP, Attack, Defence, MagAttack and MagDefence. Suffice to say his HP is considerably over 9,999 and none of the other stats are 255.

Khimbar2775
09-18-2005, 07:59 PM
Yep, algorithms all the way.
and you have already done so i assume???

If so, i consider you an extremist, sir. And hterefore, i salute you :thumb:

TheSpoonyBard
09-19-2005, 12:02 AM
Thank you.

Sephitachi7
11-19-2005, 10:36 PM
No more Trivia?

TheSpoonyBard
11-19-2005, 10:40 PM
Well nobody's tried to answer my question for 2 months, so I guess you can ask a new question or have a go at mine.

Light Mage
11-19-2005, 10:45 PM
I think your question is a little too complicated to work out without any mathmatical kowledge - it's not really something you can pick up trivially from gameplay.

BTW - What was the answer?

TheSpoonyBard
11-19-2005, 10:51 PM
400,000 HP, 246 Attack, 260 Defence, 140 Magic, 308 Magic Defence

Here's another question to keep things going for the time being.

How many linked materia slots does Red's Centclip have?

Sephitachi7
11-19-2005, 10:54 PM

TheSpoonyBard
11-19-2005, 11:10 PM

TheSpoonyBard
11-19-2005, 11:38 PM
Yep. Your turn.

Sephitachi7
11-20-2005, 05:50 AM
