I used to love drawing, but left it for quite a while. Recently, I've been doodling again though. I hope to develop my sketching skills, as it is my favourite form of art.

ANY criticism is welcomed. I know that I am not a very good artist, and would LOVE to hear any tips that could improve my ability. However, it would be nice to hear if I am doing a few things even remotely right. ;)

Here is a sketch of a favourite video game chacter of mine, but in slightly different clothing then what he usually wears. I sketched it up for an RP site that I'm a member of.

Kudos to anyone who knows who the character is. If this was coloured it would help people immensely, but sadly I'm not very good at colouring art at all.

P.S. I already know that the neck is a little long, and the left hand is a little weird, but otherwise I believe that the body is at least proportional. I'd like to hear anything else that anyone can think of .

crap. Why does everybody have the ability to sketch except me? I was able to draw a stick figure made of ovals. That's pretty much it.

Is it the person from your avatar?

Looks pretty good to me! :D

Yes, it basically the same person from my avatar. I'm still wondering if anyone knows who the actual character is. You poor people are deprieved of an AMAZING RPG. :p

"Deprived" doesn't have an "e" . . . and when you say we're deprived, do you mean we haven't played or that we never can?
Is it a character from Xenogears or something (I never played.)

Whoops, I suppose it doesn't. Thanks.

And I meant that it seems that none of you have played it yet, but you could. It is available in NA right now.

(No, not a Xenogears character. Never played that either.)

overall it looks nice(you already noted the few defeciencies I would point out).

Since I don't know what the original character looks like, I guess I must say, you could add more texture to skin(make whatever muscles more visible, if he has any that is) more shadowing.. that way it looks more realistic(don't ask me how.. I lack shadowing skills).

Also his face appears a bit odd.. though I don't know why.. maybe I am just unused to that particular style.

Though the character is rather lean, he still does have muscles that I have not took the time to shade. The left hand looks funky because I eventually gave up on trying to make it look normal. I'm not sure how the neck ended up so long though. :p

As for the face, it is modeled after a rather different style. There is a picture of his original character art here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/Camanche/galeart.jpg) if you want to see what I mean. The face my just be a little strange also. Probably a bit of both.

Yes. Ever played either of those games?
