Nothing much happening at E3 for FFXII

No playable FFXII at E3, however apparently there was an extended trailer being shown off (I've yet to view over it as I'm at work at the moment).

If someone could verify that this is indeed an all new trailer, though, that would be great. Other than that, it looks like we'll be waiting a fair while longer for any major developments on the next highly anticapted Final Fantasy main series release.

I guess it can be considered new.
It's the trailer that Square Enix showed at the Sony press conference the other day.
It's a pretty good one, so if you haven't seen it, see it.

They're only delaying the game to make it better and better
I prefer them to delay the release date instead of releasing it fast then the game won't be bad it'll be good!

It says "Latest Trailer 05/19/2005", but it looks just like the last one from the Tokyo gameshow to me (or I'm not remembering correctly).

But eh, the next time we see it we'll probably all be blown away by all the new stuff we see...that seems to be their goal anyway.

There has been gameplay. There was a playable demo up for FFXII at last year's E3...there just wasn't one this year for the reasons the developers stated.

I just meant that it's a little worrisome that after a year they weren't able to fine-tune the mechanics/cinematics/whatever enough to where they felt comfortable showing a new build of the game.

Having never watched footage from the game and not seen many pics, I can safely say that yes, Vaan looks like a girl. Other than that it looks great.

On one site it said that square made a startling anouncement about FF12 being on PS3. Is this game going to be on PS2 or PS3?

They will be on both. it will first come out on PS2 but because the PS3 is coming out so soon square enix thought it would be a bit odd to be carry on making FF games for PS2, so it will be released on both. I would think that the graphics or something would be enhanced a tiny bit as the PS3 can play PS2 games anyway and so it would be pointless to not make any enhancements. I am not sure when it will be released for the PS3 though.

Yup, only half an hour of extended trailers. The one from Advent Children was very nice, but the rest was'nt that spectacular. I expected more of SE...
