It's starting again next friday, joy.

Last year's was simply the height of desperation. Stick in a homophobe, a homosexual,a militant dyke, a nympho geordie, a brainless bloke with a couple of A-levels, a posh bird, Another posh bird, a black bloke who thinks he's 'da man' and a transexual who actually is 'da man' and you have yourselves a show

I'm going to close my eyes and ears, open my mind, and just pretend like it's not there.

Oh, but we all know that Big Brother is just a ploy by the New World Order to control the minds of the less dense beings.

I walked past my living room a couple of times last night while it was on, what I saw was one of the housemates entry video, she claimed to have been abducted by Aliens 7 times. Then she arrived at the Big Brother site to enter the house dressed up in a Witch outfit, Broomstick included, my Heart turned to stone right at that point.

I don't like big brother but I always find out what's happening, my mum tells me everything, and it's always on my tv, she even watches it on E4 when there's no sound, it's silly. The housemates this year are kinda crazy.

The sad thing is that some of the reality shows are actually some the most intelligent shows out there.

Shows like Survivor, The Mole and Big Brother are all about strategy. The players know the game is on 24/7. It's very interesting to see the strategies that develop and the personalities that come out due to those strategies when everything is non-scripted, and far more interesting than most other shows out there. You even see strategies develop in the Amazing Race, a show that is more about a team's own personal skill than it is the ability to screw everyone else over. The strategies also carry over every week, and the cache is not built up from scratch as it would be on most other shows.

And don't even start me on the Apprentice, by far the most highbrow show on television. Did you know there are college courses that actually study the Apprentice every week? Students have written reports on their findings about the show, about what to do and what not to do in the field of business to succeed.

But I didn't come in here expecting teenagers to like these shows anyways. The demographic for reality TV is around 21-49. I guess I'm an exception.

And I'm also going to admit not all reality shows are intelligent. Shows like American Idol, all that nanny crap, and Fear Factor are all terrible blights on the image of what Mark Burnett wanted this incredible field of television to be. And it's sad highly intelligent shows like The Will get cancelled after one episode while brainless reality shows like American Idol continue on for seasons. But alas.

I usually dont mind BB, but i dont the housemates this year, i liked last years tho. VICTOR!
In this series probably.. Derek is my favourite. But i dont really watch it.
They keep making it so younger viewers cant watch it, which is really unfair =/

I'm willing to bet half of you watch it secretly. I like it, it's funny. Sam & Saskia are absolute stunners ;)
But it is a pretty good show, they ARE pondlife freaks that are in the house but that makes it better.

But the thing is, they aren't reality at all, they're just presented as such. Watch the credits sometime...there's a ton of script writers listed. All it is is cheaply shot television of random things, then people take it, write a story for the footage that they have, then edit the footage into such a fashion that it fits their little story. That's "reality" tv. It's basically like WWE/WCW/WWF/wrestling crap, except the scripting is done after the shooting rather than before.

And I refuse to join the other billion idiots who eat the up and believe it's real. Plus, why watch tv just to see other people do...real life stuff? o_O
