I just want to know if this is my copy/playstation/badluck, but does IX have a tendency to get shredded? My first copy kept juddering during fmvs, occasionally needed pursuading to start fights by opening and closing the leaves, and occasionally made my PS2 squeal like it was have something rather unpleasent done to it. I've just come off playing now because it's just put rather nasty gouges in my disk 3. I've had similar problems with the second copy I bought.
Do other people have these problems or is it just me?

Yes, I have similar problems with my ff9 game. It usually doesn´t like fmvs and in disk 4 I can´t go to Qu´s marsh because it gets stuck.

I admit my game used to muck up
But that was when I was playing it on my PS1
Once I got my PS2 it worked fine

I have PS1 and it freezes during the ending movie. I had to ask my friend what happened.

First time I played through on a friend's copy on his PS1, and now I'm playing my copy on a PS2. Haven't had any problems.

It probably depends on how well you take care of your CDs. I'm a freak about games I buy when I get them brand new and try to not let a single scratch get on them, but as a result I don't have any problems with them.

I also try to keep my games in the best condition possible. The only problem is... my friends dont take as good of care of my games as I do. So when we switch games for a little while... I always get them back a little banged up. Nothing so serious as to screw the game up too much... maybe increase the time it takes to load in specific parts of the game a little, but thats about it. I've never had any problems with my FFIX since I bought one that wasn't used.

Mine works without any scroll at all. It plays just perfectly on my PSone. It should also be noted that I take freakin' good care of my games, I don't touch the discs I just hold 'em around edges when I have to put 'em in my Psone.

it might be a problem with your PS2 laser or it might be on a wonky angle i always make sure my ps2 is flat and have never had any problems with my games. well apart from demo disks but who cares bout them.
