I just recently watche the first episode of Full Metal Alchemist and thought it was quite good, but i also thought it started quite weirdly and a bit too fast, is that maybe because it was originally a manga comic? Does it get better along the way?

Please dont include any spoilers, but if you have to, at least rap spoiler tags around them.

It starts off fast but soon goes into the past so that things can be slowly introduced. It was orginally a manga but it is not anywhere near as detailed as the anime. The first 26 episodes follow the manga and elaborate more on it. After that they split directions and go into different stories. Over all I like the anime better as it has better story and character development.

Oh wow, sounds good. First time in ages that someone said prefer a remake over an original piece.

EDIT: For the sake of conversation this threads topic will include what i have written in my first post as well as all around Full Metal Alchemist topics. But please mind spoilers.

I've seen the first 12 episodes and find it to be one of the better animes I've seen. The only thing that could improve it is if the took out the retarted "childish drawing" like when Ed freaks out for being called short, or they turn ghost white and all stupid when surprised. I hate that.

Yes those are very traditional japanese comical scenes, and I find them a tad bit irritating since they have been done so many many times before, I still really like the anime though and can occasionally laugh at some of those toony scenes. Lol, occasionally.

I think Full Metal Alchemist was exhilarating. The only part that I hated was when They killed General Hughes (the guy that always talks about his daughter. I pracitally cried it was so sad. Why? Why? Whhhhhyyyyy!!!????

I was just about to shout at you for giving me a spoiler when i realised you had wrapped it in a tag and it was just my god damn outlook express which ruined everything.

I think i managed to forget what you said though, apart from someone being killed

Oh man yeah.
Hughes was one of my favorite characters. That put me in a bad way for the rest of the night afterwards.

Hear ya on that one. Hughes was the big factor in the anime holding my attention up to that point. Good show; I've got all the episodes saved on my hard drive, and I go back to it and watch a few episodes fairly often.

ok i have gotten to episode 11 and i have this to say:

I think the series is great so far but i am a little worried. You know how in that crappy (in my opinion) pokemon series each episode tells a new story that are all very very similar and repepitive instead of actually letting the episodes roll over smoothly? Well every episode i have watched of Full Episode Alchemist has been like that and its starting to annoy me. Does this kind of thing carry on throughout the whole series?

See, that's what I thought too right around that time. Trust me, though, you're at the part where it really starts getting into the main story, and you don't have to worry about that happening again until you hit like ep. 29 or so.
