uhhhh.. What she said lol O_o

I cannot believe there is actually a site for this.. I mean rent my kid for WHAT first of all?! My flesh and blood is not "rentable" in any sense of the word. If they want to work, that's great, I'm all for it. If that's the case, they can work PT at my store. Or maybe cutting the grass or some other household task.

Ive seen 9 years old listed, and the legal age to "work" is 14. Kinda fishy to me..

Plus can anyone imagine saying "Oh Im gonna send you to somewhere for the weekend with some work on the weekend website" to thier child?!

TasteyPies
05-25-2005, 01:46 AM
Hold on, what is HAPPENING to these children?!

Behold the Void
05-25-2005, 01:47 AM
They don't EVER say what it's for, but I think that's pretty obvious.

Disgusting.

Is it legal to employ children under the age of 16?
YES - Our lawyers have gone over our service contracts with a fine-toothed comb. We have worked with the Department of Labor to be sure we are operating within legal guidelines. The Fair Labor Standards Act's (FLSA) minimum age requirements do not apply to minors employed by their parents, or by a person acting as their guardian. For tax and employment purposes, ChildNet Services enters into a service agreement with the parents of the child: the parents will receive compensation for hours logged by their child and technically speaking the child will then be “employed” by their parents.

How can I be sure my child is safe?
In most cases it is possible to visit with the clients before any transaction takes place. We also work with local and state governments to cross-check our clients with sex offender and felon lists. Most of the events your child will participate in are supervised and many of our clients are frequent clients who have a history of incident-free business.

I recently used your services and am VERY impressed! The girl was professional and her parents were a great help too. I had a compamy picnic and was trying to impress a female coworker. I said I was watching my sister's kid and really poured on the sensitivity. Let's just say that last month we got engaged! Thanks RentMyDaughter!

A couple months ago my son came to me and was very upset that all his friends were going to a school dance, but he was embarrased because he didn't have anyone to go with. Your service really came through in a pinch! I... I...

Trying not to reject things that aren't familiar to me...

Maybe this is like the opposite of baby-sitting. Like child-less parents who want children but don't want them all the time could rent children and like act like they're their own. Or it could be like temporary adoption, you know, like the real parents don't have anyone to watch their kids and ... yeah.

Or we could look at it like some form of those dating websites except it's for younger kids and the parents know what's going on. Since client feedback shows they've been renting girls to make it look like their sons aren't date-less.

Still, the last use is kinda sad... what would you be teaching your son if you rent a girl to go out with him -_- that if you don't have friends you could just buy them?

I am in my senior year of high school. I am really good at making unattractive and overweight girls feel comfortable. I make a good prom date - I am in a band and have a lot of good stories and most people think I'm pretty funny.

This site is hilarious beyond belief. I don't understand why you people feel outraged though...a lot of dirty minded EoFFers perhaps?

Y'know, I once seriously wondered where I could rent a kid.

Seriously, one of my friends was coming back from two years in germany with very little communication between him, myself, and our other friends, and I wanted to get his reaction to the idea that we had all become fathers (instead of just one of us).

Endless
05-26-2005, 08:36 PM
It's fake though. I mean, the building is a Gov't office building, they registered the domains by proxy so as not to disclose names/addresses, they're not listed at the BBB, signing up doesn't work, and last, despite their claim, it's illegal.

XxSephirothxX

Well there goes the point of that thread. :p
I almost wish it was real, though--then Congress would have something to whine about instead of violence in videogames.
