Difficulties.. Difficulties with Suikoden 4

I got S4 and beat it through once, obtaining all 108 stars. When I tried getting all of them again in a new game, I could not get Bartholomew (in Nay-Kobold) to join me, and Maxine would show up way earlier than for her time (the time you should be able to get Bartholomew). I have tried 6 more times, with new games, and I have failed to get all of the stars. Has anyone heard of this? And if anyone could possibly help me with this, it would be great!

I think you need to get a few more SoDs to get Maxine.

Thanks! But the problem is, I could get Maxine. Bartholomew was just the stubborn man who refused to join me. I even used the same guide in the beginning, and I still couldn't get him. Hmm.. I was thinking that maybe my game was broken. But who knows.

Ok, here's what you do. Find the Perrault, and recruit him. Check back with him on your ship and look at look for his writing about Bartholemew. When you find it go talk to him and he'll join you.
