Threads bigger than 100 posts are absolutely pointless. Nobody reads all the posts before them. Every one just repeats the same thing over and over again, without even realizing they're doing it. The thread creatOr is tired of you before you've even posted... It makes extremely valid points completely moot. I won't even go into threads larger than 3 pages. Maybe if I've caught the thread from the beginning I'll keep up with it otherwise it's just a big headache.

So, does anyone else have large thread policies?

i tend to stay out of them unless i posted earlier since i tend to just make a post and no one seems to care.

What? LMAO.

I do read the threads sometimes if they have over 100 posts :p Depends on how patient I am feeling.

Literally feeling cocky! XD

I am pretty much the same. I even don't go for 3 paged ones because I cannot be bothered reading all of the posts. I will stick with a large thread if I have been there from the early post but other than that I might just post randomly in large threads if I have a sudden urge to post.
So I agree on the large threads being pointless but there are some threads that I post in at other forums that have over 15000 replies and they are fine. It is just like a huge spam thread and can be fun and you don't need to read other peoples posts.

I bet no one read this.

I read the part that said "I bet no one read this."

Yes, I read them. If they're spammed up, which is usually the case with this type of thread, I close them. If they're three pages with no spam, then it makes for good reading.

Damn. My newbie thread was closed. Lol. Oh, well. It was fun. +_+ Yeah, I usually don't read post that have too much words on it and I only read them if it's my thread interesting.

I tend to skip threads over two pages in length unless I'm truly interested.

to be honest i don't even read the ones under 10 posts before putting in my wonderful insight

The longer they are, the easier they are to spam. I mean, at that point, you're only responding to the last few posters above you, since the original thread topic is long gone by then. So why not spam?

Of course, that doesn't prevent me from spamming short topics either. That way, everyone sees that you spammed the topic and then starts following suit.

Or it gets closed.

Whatever.

I don't read threads with over 100 posts because It takes too long to load ze page, but it depends if I really want to read or not. x.x

They make me read all the posts because if I miss a post that's troublesome then I look like an idiot that can't do his job... even more than I do now.

Please don't use pyramid quotes, guys.

I generally skim over long topics, and if I find them really interesting I read over them better and if I find them less interesting, I just don't bother after a while.

yea long threads are really pointless, especially when there are more than 100 posts in them. i mean how can u read them all? the worst part is when ppl repeat things over and over again and they dont even realized they are doing it! man it just bugs me. if i start a thread ill keep reading it, but if not, its not worth my time.

I usually post in them before they get very long.

The Anarchy Angel
05-30-2005, 09:55 PM
Yea, otherwise you lose track of them and the you ahve to read everything after your post...so it's easier to keep your computer in shape to try and keep up with these things or just stick to relatively short threads...unless of course they're quizzes! I can't leave those alone!
