What do you guys think of Phantasy Star Universe?

I think it is going to be pretty cool. I am a pretty big fan of PSO, and this is apparently going to have a pretty deep story in the Offline mode. A Trailer I watched said: "The First Major Offline Phantasy Star in more than a Decade!"

This might be something I was really hoping for. The Game-Play seems much smoother. ^_^

It's pretty cool to me that now, instead of choosing from a List of Faces, you get to create your own! For those of you have no idea what I mean by that, you have a Proportion mode and a Color mode for your Characters Face! ^_^

For those of you who never played PSO, and don't know what I mean by Proportion Mode, here is an explenation.

In the Proportion Mode, you move a little Dot to any place in a little box. The higher the Dot is, the taller your Character is. The more to the right the Dot is, the more fat your Character is.

Now you can do that with your characters face. Except, instead of the Head getting Wider or Longer, it is more like certain parts of the Face are changed. It is hard to explain, so watch the First trailer I posted. (They are at the Bottom of the Post)

Also, you get to decide your Eye Color with a nice little Color Mode. Put the Dot in a certain area of a little Box filled with Colors, and depending on where you put the dot, the Eye color will be Different. (It's better than it sounds)

It's the same for Hair Color.

And, it seems you have many choices for Clothing.

You will be able to decide what kind of Pants your character wears.
You will be able to decide what kind of Shirt your character wears.
You will be able to decide what Color of Socks your character wears.

Also, with Shirts and Pants, you will be able to decide what Color they are. Example:

1 Year after Kentarou made his PSU Post... He was making a Character in PSU! He decided his Character would Wear Grey Socks, a Blue Pair of Pants, and a Yellow Shirt.

(Note: I merely assumed that the Pants will be customizable. I assumed this because when the Character in the Trailer changed her shirt, her Shorts stayed the same. Also when the Color of her shirt changed, the color of her Shorts stayed the same.

Also, with Skin Color, there is a little Bar. You move the Bar to a Certain part of a Rectangle to decide your Skin Color.

The world in this game, according to a Trailer, is huge. The Trailer said: "Three enormous Planets to explore!"

Also, Vehicles will be in this game. ^_^ Hover Jet's! Yay! And they are Player-Controlled!

And there will be quite a few new enemies. I am not too excited about this part, but hey, if they are cool lookin', fine by me!

This will be the best RPG to come out in years. I love the fact that we finally have a new single player story PS game, after about ten years. It will rock concidering PS is the greatest RPG series ever made.

I liked PSO but the story had so much potential that they didn't properly tap. I hope that is fixed in this one.

PS Universe is actually a prequel to Phantasy Star 2, it takes place 18 years after the events on Palma and Lassic was slain.

I've not had a chance to play the original Phantasy Star games, though I've been meaning to try to find them. I'm talking about the PSO storyline itself though, especially in Episode 2. The events with Flowen were extremely interesting and I would have liked to have seen that better explored.

Remember kids. There is more the Phantasy Star then the online ones. Download a Genesis emulator and download the rom to Phantasy Star IV, which is arguably the best RPG ever made.
