They have a similar hair color and outfit, but that's it. Rinoa has a far fuller face that Tifa does, and Tifa's face is longer. Their noses are also different.

There's definitely a resemblance, and likely an intentional one at that. Rinoa is known to be Nomura's favorite of his female designs, and he liked Tifa more than Aerith due to her being more like a girl that he would be interested in himself. So for Nomura to alter Tifa to look a bit more like his favorite isn't really a stretch.

I do see the resemblence to Laguna now that you mention it, though. But that's more because you can't really see Tifa's curves which would tend to give her away. That and all the guys in the FF series look like girls anyway. Apart from Barret and Ward.

Dare I say that Tifa looks more masculine than Rinoa, at least when comparing those two pictures?

Tifa's face, while still obviously that of a females, has a no-nonsense, strong, straight nose that reminds me of Seifer or Squall. Rinoa, on the other hand, had a very thin, delicate nose, with a tiny bit of an upturn at the end.

As said, Rinoa has a fuller, heart-shaped face, while Tifa has a long face compared to her. Tifa jaw-line and chin also seem to be much sharper and more drastic, adding to the 'masculinity' of her face. I honestly think it suits her though. I never pictured Tifa as a frail waif, like Rinoa, but as a girl-of-the-mountains, with strength in her features.

When I first saw Rinoa in FF8 (back when it came out and I got it first day) I thought to myself, OMG.. Tifa's Back? Come on, Long Black hair, thin frame. Sexy.... Then I realized Rinoa's chest isn't quite as... out there, as Tifa's. (Also, Tifa was technically a brunette, but it came out as black on screen)I also thought Sephie and Yuna looked similar when X came out. Then FF9 had Garnet, and I was like, why must they have a thin chick with long black hair? But6 then she cut it and it was all good. But seriously, theres many girls that look very individual... Quistis, Freya, Quina, Eiko, Elena (NPC but still unique looking), Beatrix, Paine, Rikku. (All of this must be post FF7 because of graphical character displays or else you'd have Relm, Terra, Faris etc. etc.) I really think they should go back to odd hair colors, it was cool. Come on, Faris's Purple hair, Reina had pink, Hell, not too many blondes either (Rikku, Relm, Rosa and Celes.) Rydia and Terra's Green hair was cool too.

Back on topic, of course those pictures looked similar. If you had a picture of Jessica Simpson doing the same pose as Britney Spears, and they were wearing similar outfits and had the same hairstyle, you say the same thing.

I'll post two pics, one of each, tell me how similar they really look put together.

I agree about the whole Tifa being identical to Aeris in this movie, but I knew that it was coming from when i first heard about the movie. I think that they should have kept Tifa the way she was. They are making it seem like she is the one ff character that you can see in every character when they are trying to make her like the others. :confused:

Now that you mention it, you know Tifa DOES look like Rinoa a bit. Just a few differences. When I saw the pic of Tifa in AC i was like "Yo, is it me or is that Rinoa?" and then i find out that its Tifa and im all "Ohhh I see. The long hair seemed Similar." And I agree that Tifa's face is alittle longer, masculine than Rinoa's.

Maybe I just figured it was still Tifa's breasts because... they're very flaunted. Like that one part in the trailer, when she's on the phone and... um, looking very perky!

But you know, regardless, her more "realistic" self still has relatively large boobs. I don't think they could get away with making them THAT comically big. heh

I hate to tear this apart.. but here it goes.. if you look closely, Rinoa's mouth is thinner, and her lips are more pronounced than Tifa's also, Rinoa's eyebrows are thicker than Tifa's and her nose is shaped different along with the shape of the eyes themselves... perhaps if you ignore all of that though, you can see a resemblance (by the way, that last bit was sarcasm)

Well, Rinoa and Tifa have some simialrity. While Rinoa has the Asiany Euopeain look and Tifa was model to be more of a White Amercian girl, without the blonde hair. The one thing that they do have in common, is the ribbon and the hair length, which is quite strange.... :mad: I guess Square is have a problem of coming up with new costumes and combine other to make new ones. :tongue: Also, you don't want to know what the asians say about the americans. ^^;

I think that Tifa looks more mature then Rinoa, more serious and grown, Rinoa has a young girl face, Tifa has a womans face, I like both of the charcters though, but I will admitt that Tifa in my fav Final Fantasy girl, her personality just seems more believable then anyone elses.
