A lot of critics are basically calling this "skateboard porn" which I guess holds some water since the film is kind of a loveletter to the origins of skateboarding. I thought Lords of Dogtown was flat out awesome: masterfully directed, entertaining, exciting, and just damn good.

Maybe it was that I wasn't expecting much to begin with or maybe it's because it brought back some nostalgia from my skateboarding Jr. High. days, I'm not quite sure. I am sure, however, that if you haven't seen the movie it's worth the price of admission.

Anyone else seen it yet? What did you think?

I hav'nt seen it yet, but it's kind of funny, it's like a remake of a remake.
I'd like 2 see it tho.

Aww, man, I really, really want to see this; partly because my dad actually went to school with those guys. Fawesome, yes. Anyways, I'm glad you liked it; I'm pretty excited myself. And not JUST because of Heath Ledger. >=O!

Good to know that this will be 10 bucks well spent.

I got a chance to see it last night, and I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately I went to the movies with a couple of guys that hadn't seen Episode III yet.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Not really interested in seeing a movie whose principal cast is made up of a bunch of snot-nosed surfer kids. I'm sure it's big in California, though.

The dialogue I've heard in the trailers were painful.

"We're Z boys! We're family!"

"This is our time, bros!"

I loved what Catherine Hardwicke did with Thirteen, but I'm gonna have to pass on this movie.

Same here. In the previews, the 'family resturaunt' scene really turned me off. It just annoys me when people are rude like that.

Nitpicking, I know.

I did hear that Mitch Hedberg was in it, so I may check it out when its on DVD, just for that.

I have not heard that previously, but now I am suddenly interested in this film.

I think you guys should see the movie before you say how bad it is. As far as the dialogue goes, uh... If they made it easier for you to listen to it would be an inaccurate representation of how they really talked.

And since when do you not go to see a movie because you think something the characters do is rude?

I mean, you don't have to see it if you don't want to but until you do I guess you can't really make too fair of a judgement on it.

I never said it was bad, it just seems like something I dont wanna see.

If it's part of the previews, it usually means emphasis... and to me, that's emphasizing the 'hey, we're bad ass rebels' part, which annoys the crap out of me. That isnt why I'm not seeing it, I simply have no interest in the subject matter, but it is an annoyance of mine.
