Art Tournament -black orb wins! :)

I've seen a lot of good art work flying around this site and i have decided to hold an Art Tournament. Here's how it would work:

There would be several rounds, depending on the number of participants. Participants would register on my say so. Each round, one or two participants will be knocked out of the round, this would be determined by the amount of votes that they don't get. Basically, any one who is NOT taking part in the art drawing, can vote for the person(s) who they want to go through. This will occur after every round until there is a clear winner at the end. (there will be a limit for the amount of votes per voter: 2).

Each round will last one week. Voting for the round will last for 3 days giving voters the opportunity to vote.

Anyone who wishes to enter the Tounament, please PM me, i will then know who has registered. Thank you and good luck!

At the moment, i'm working out that this will last about 8-9 weeks. For the first 3 rounds, there will be 2 people knocked out, leaving 3 finalists, then only 1 will be knocked out per round until the is a winner.

We have 11 contestants!
that means there will be 6 rounds in all. i have changed the voting time too, it will only be 2 days voting. this is cuz i'm going on vacation in August and i have to fit this in.
anyhow the whole thing will last for 8 weeks. In the first 4 rounds, 2 contestants will be voted out. That will then leave us with 3 finalists, then it's only one knocked out per round until the winner emerges.

BTW, in case it's not quite clear enough, my drawing is a FFXII samurai moogle sitting on a flying chocobo. It is necessary to say that it's an FFXII moogle because they have a very special look to them so yeah.

Okay, well, here is mine.

I know I've submited these images before, however, they were seperate images. So, since I liked them, I decided to try and draw them both on one piece of paper, with one faint and and the other more prominent. I must say though, that it took for-freaking-ever to draw.I've discovered I have a knack for smudgeing pencil marks. :mad: I tried to stay as close to the original drawings as I could, and, well, here it is.

I agree with Black Orb. This tourney should not make you feel bad about your abilities as an artist. Rather, it should give you inspiration and the drive to find mistakes in your own work and do something to fix them.

Ok, I do believe this is a product of post exam traumatic stress, and a combination of the wonderfully titled song "The half eaten sausage would like to see you in his office" by the Not so wonderful band The Locust. So I thank both of those. Yay.

There are certian things about the image quality that I am not happy with, but right now, I'm glad just to get it uploaded.

that is a damn good piece of art work, Black Orb. and i have to go and post something far of a lesser quality. i like to call it "My Monotone Motorcycle".
the basic idea came from the Fenrir bike of FF7:AC, but i developed a few design features.

So I'll post an old painting, not especially good, but its alright I think. Just done roughly in a Francis Bacon style of my friend. Looks messed up, but oh well. She had a bad hair day. Oils on parcel paper.

Sita strongly in front despite not being around for the more recent Ciddies which have had more votes than ever before - not bad. :) All wonderful contendors, though.

Samuraid and I are looking to revamp the FanArt section on Eyes on Final Fantasy as it's quite old right now, and needs reworking. One of the things I'm hoping to get put up is a section for Recognised Artists, where the best of the best artists such as black orb, *angel tears* and co can put their stuff up. But that might take days or months before it goes live - still, something I felt I may as well post about.

I've only been to the fanart sec a few times. There don't seem to be any new additions. Either that, or all the new simply resembles the old. I'd visit more often if I could draw my own fanart. Unfortunately, I've got idle hands when it comes to drawing.

Okay, so this thing has been here a good enough while for me to get votes from anyone who was interested in voting.

black orb (from my tally of the votes) is clearly going to be the winner no matter who else decides later they want to vote. To keep this going would mean waiting around for a handful of random members to vote for black orb as there's no doubt they will.
