Do you sound different on the phone?

I thought of this just coz ive just got of the phone where the person said..
"Hi.. is Amy there? Its Rachel."
Me> "Yeh? .... It is me..?"
"OOOOOh! hehe it didn't sound like you.."

My voice sounds slightly different, but it is still recognisable.
But apparently I always sound really quiet on the phone, but I haven't noticed. :D

I sound like a lil five year old apparently! I swear I'm older! Sumtimes when i ahve a cold though, i sound like an old man!! My Freinds shouldn't phone me at lunch times when I'm off sick and they thougth i was my dad!

When I am on the phone people tend to say that I sound like a 12 yr old cheerleader. Although I can't stand cheerleaders and I'm 18 years old although I guess I have the voice to go with my look. I look about 12 because I am so short and tiny lol.

Yeah, pretty much. For a girl, I have a fairly deep voice to begin with, and it can get pretty raspy---on the phone/on camera it sounds so bad. xD But that's just the way it goes.
