Veteran rock band Pink Floyd have been added to the list of acts appearing at next month's Live 8 concert in London.

Roger Waters will be reunited with band-members Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright for the show.

The show, organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to help fight African poverty, is one of five taking place around the world on July 2.

Meanwhile, pop fans have until midnight to apply for tickets for the concert at Hyde Park.

People wanting tickets have to text the answer to a multi-choice question to be in with a chance of winning one of 75,000 pairs of tickets.

The winning tickets will be drawn at random by computer.
I never thought I'd see the day, or rather they'd see the day when this happened. Truthfully, though, the rivalry has been blown out of proportion by the media. I was still pleasantly surprised. This doesn't mean a world tour or new album, and it's likely that they will go their seperate ways after the show(s).

I woke up and heard it on the radio and pratically leapt out of bed. This makes me so happy, which is a bit sad really, but I dont care its PINK FLOYD!!!! YEAH!

If only I didn't live in New Zealand. And although a tour and/or album is unlikley, it can't hurt to hope! ;)

Oh. my. god. I'm having heart palpitations.

Why is this thing only open to UK residents? That's just not cool.

Finally, the vocals will sound good again!

The best news of this century thus far...*waits for a reunion tour*

(It would especially kick ass if a certain Syd showed up too :))

Do you want to get a ticket to go to England by July 2nd? :D

Syd showing up will never happen. I'm pretty sure he's happy living his quiet life.

Also:

<i>"Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," Gilmour told Reuters.

"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile."</i>

I always knew that Davie Gilmour kid had a good head on him.

They should perform Pigs (3 of Them) because it is kind of relevant.

I really hope that this will make the G8 people notice and consider the opinions of Live 8.

GO Pink Floyd!

I'll just watch highlights when they come on after the concert has finished. There are bound to be highlights of it on TV.

Hopefully they'll do Money, Mother, & all of the 'Another Brick in the Wall' parts.

You didn't mention that there'd be a DVD on Fool's Gold. >:O If you had, people might have cared more. ;-)

Anyway, this is good news. Although it'll only be great news if a tour, album, etc happen as well.

I'm personally hoping there'll be a punch-up on stage.
