Would EyesonFF be intrested in getting a Ventrilo or Teamspeak channel so users could actually talk to each other in real time via mic? Just wondering, because it seems the idea would be awesome imo. The user would of course have to get his own mic, but the idea of the EyesonFF community just talking together without the keyboard seems pretty frickin sweet.
I mean, all EyesonFF users, all over the entire world, just talking and chatting to one another, and it could also be used by mods and stuff for all that important stuff... would that just be awesome?

I would so buy a mic to do that! That'd be awesome! But... I just don't think they'll go for it...

Most of the people that want to talk to each other go through voicechat on Yahoo messenger, I think.

Everybody talking at once? Like... the EoFF cafeteria or something?

Actually, we've been having chats with tons of EoFF members via Yahoo Messanger lately ^_^
I'd go for it.

I wouldn't be against it. I like Y!M voice chats.

Yeah, we do Y!M voice chats around here. You just need to find someone who can get you into the loop.
For a fiver, I can hook you up.

For a fiver, I can hook you up.I'm goint to resist the urge to make fun of you for what I think this means, and assume it means 5 piece chicken strip.
I've voice chatted a few times but it's hard to get into really. To me it just seems unpolite to randmoly IM someone and ask to join their voice chat. People have to want to invite you.

I think the issue with this would be similar to the issue with a streaming radio: lots of bandwidth. It is an interesting idea, but the requirements to do a dedicated server through the site might not make it worth it. Unless we get someone who wouldn't mind donating a dedicated box and their pipe for it.
Alternatively, I recommend Skype or YM.

Im sorry whats iParty?
Anyways, I could potentially reisgter a ventrilo server if people were intrested. The Yahoo messenger I am not familiar with, though I get the impression that they are strict invites, not just a public server. Ventrilo could just be opened to all members of EyesonFF at any time of the day everyday.

Im just curious ATM (notice the capital letters...) of who would be intrested in something like this

iParty is a program completely designed for audio conferences. It's a better program for it in that it's a queued (sp.?) system, meaning that not everybody can talk at once, and if somebody is being an idiot, you can skip them. However, it is not as popular as Y!M, which allows hands-free.
I don't have the link to iParty handy.
