If you're into artists who have names starting with B, try:

Bad Brains
Belle and Sebastian
Billy Corgan's new solo album <3
Blackalicious
Blonde Redhead
Boards of Canada

haha Bad Brains!
massive love for Boards of Canada
I saw Blonde Redhead open for Interpol and they were ok but it sounded like they were screwing up a lot, but maybe that's just what they are going for.

some more good B musical acts:

Beastie Boys
Beck
Björk
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Blur

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones I concur.

Bloc Party are quite good, as are the Bravery.

Check out a band called The Accellerants if you can.

I tend to stick to the old stuff like metallica, iron maiden, megadeth, old bad religion, pearl jam, soundgarden and stuff.. the newest music i think is good is really random and cool band i cant remember what they were called.. it began with a V something like Viridium, theyve released a song called pull the strings and it had an amazing solo. Also liking bullet for my valentine (i get to see them at leeds festival YEAH!) and the new inme song but i like them anyway. And i heard Funeral for a friend's new song, looks like theres finally a new album and new material!!

The band you're thinking of is called Trivium. I have the album, it's not too bad, but nothing brilliant like older thrash stuff, it's got a sort of nu-metal feel to some of it. I saw them live in Wolverhampton not too long ago, they were bloody brilliant. They're definately worth looking into.

I also got into Dream Theater recently, absolutely kick arse band. Train of Thought is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Also, CKY have a new album out soon, everyone go buy that.

thankyou pure strife thats saved me a HUGE headache i couldn't remember what the band were called.. the song I heard was very old style metal I thought, the solo was VERY old metal to be fair. well i liked them and I can hardly judge on one song I s'pose.
Will take your advice on CKY i have a soft spot for them but didnt have lots of money to burn on cds. people listen to this guy!

There you go again, just trashing music.

The thread starter stated anything would be good, regardless of genre, what right have you to just trash what someone else suggests?

Anyway, The Magic Numbers have an album out now, and are insanely listenable.

Necro is right on all counts. ;)

I've been addicted to Arcade Fire ever since I saw them live at Coachella. Check out their album Funeral. You might want to check out their self-titled EP as well, but Funeral is far more cohesive and... well... awesome. :D

Funeral is good JUST for Power Out and Crown of Love, that's not to say the rest of the album isn't wonderful, but those two songs alone could carry a band for years, the fact that they have an album full of other brilliant songs just bolsters the fact that they win, forever and ever more.

Tack on Rebellion to that list. They went crazy while playing it live - one of their guys took a cymbal stand and starting poking the guitarist with it, and security was confused and pulled the two apart. :p

You're welcome. And the album is in fact full of those lovely solos. I say nu-metalish, but it could more of an Iron Maiden-type thing with some of the vocal lines. Either way, bloody good all the same.

And I've been dieing for that damn CKY to come out since November, and it's finally only 2 weeks away :D
