Oh man! I was just looking at some info in Wikipedia about Dig Dug to find out they're making Dig Dug: Digging Strike for the DS! This is probably the greatest surprise I have had in the gaming world ever. Let us all now rave on about how awesome Dig Dug is.

I'm so excited! Sucks that it's only on the DS though. But Dig Dug! Oh man oh man!

I've wanted to play Dig Dug for a long time. Is it as addictive as Super Puzzle Fighter?

Used to play this whenever I went to the local arcade/pizza place where I used to live. Shame, I don't have a DS, since I just played one and I must say it's a great system (played Kirby: Canvas Curse). But yeah, I have about, oh, $0.00 right now, so...

Anyway, Dig Dug is one of the best Coin-op games I've played and yes, this looks awesome.

We used to play that game in school on breaks(?) on rainy days and stuff. Great. Sexy. Game. Yes.

Sweet game but cheap...I also noticed that you mentioned Modojo up there. They are new(the Message Boards are not...been going there for years now as a lurker) and seem to be getting know if BoB is mentioning them as a source here. They are only hand held stuff though.

Google News - My #1 source for gaming news. :D Those are just the links I got from searching for "Digging Strike"

I never played Dig Dug as a coin op. I had it as a game on the 186 my Dad bought for the family when I was a kid. Dig Dug has some of the greatest repetitive music in all history, and the all time greatest death-sound. I love it so much. I would play that game for ages.

Now that I look at that weapon in the picture again... he's just totally outdone both Cloud and Squall in one go.

I'll admit, that pic is sweet. Did Dug on the Atari was great. It was one of my first games (along side Dolphin and Hide & Seek).

I'm not one of those fans who wants all the atari games updated to modern day graphics though. Pac Man should have stayed the 2D game it was and not be Namco's disaster. Pitfall was better on the 2600 than any of its "comebacks". the only ancient school game (if SNES is Old School now, Atari is ancient) that I want a new one of is Adventure. That game was awesome x5.

I'll play it and give it a shot, if done right it might be decent, but my hopes arent high.

Well, that's basically the same thing, but since made by someone else for online, it's not the same game, because then they could get sued or whatever, so it just ahs a different premise/graphics around it. Other than that, it's mostly the same, I think.
