It does, but I've experienced worse. Or at least, I think I have. Baseball bats dropping on concrete is....among the worst of sounds.

Agreed. My father is into construction, and it would always freak me out about him grinding his fingernails against something, or like concrete , or.... buurrrrrr That seriously freaks me out more than the sound

I hate that, also, scratching a dinner plate with knives & forks is very annoying.

i found scraping a plastic ruler on the desk is quite effective :D
