Im a eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeny bit irish :)
Both my parents are Irish. I guess it depends on whether you're a 'blood-nationality' kinda person or a 'location-nationality' kinda person to determine how Irish I am, if at all.

HA! I couldn't agree more. There's no bigger turn off than a girl with a big dirty Scottish accent that only men should have...
OK, IS ANYONE ELSE IRISH? I'm getting pretty lonely in my corner over here...

When you say Irish do you mean born in Ireland or just Irish blood. I have mainly Irish blood. Damn near pure Irish blood.
I'm a quarter Irish, though I don't look it. I'm half Italian, and another quarter German also, but I really look like none of those ethnicities.

I'm half Irish, and spend significant tracts of my youth there. Northern Ireland that is, not those upstart rebel parts.
Not that it really matters to me a whit. Nationality is so insane an idea I'm not remotely surprised Humanity came up with it.

I'm British and Indian too. And a little German....cause of my last name.

I'm from, and live in Northern Ireland! Though ironically, I don't think I have that much Irish blood in me. I think my descendants are English, but my genepool must have picked up some Irish along the way.
I was born and raised in the County of Armagh.
Cruise Control
06-21-2005, 03:29 AM
How do you say Armagh
Cless
06-21-2005, 03:35 AM
Ar (as in arm) and ma (as in mama). Ar-ma. That's the way I say it anyway!
Cuchulainn
06-21-2005, 03:46 AM
I've been to Armagh, I know people in Crossmaglen. I'm from North Belfast, and unlike Cless, I'm most probably 100% Irish as my descendants are from County Cork (or Cobh). I was born in Antrim, moved to the Falls in West Belfast then to Poleglass in West Belfast & now to here...the crazt riot loving North of the city...busy childhood.

I'm more Irish than German. I'm equally Scottish. I'm barely Blackfoot and half-half Phillipino.
The Irish/Scottish thing must be why I'm always at war with myself on the soccer field.

It's a beautiful lament:
Looking back over my youth,
I was content,
Without knowledge of death
I was young, without time,
Now I'm sorrowful,
The day is long past.
Alas and woe, oh.
No, you're the only person in Ireland who decided to go on Eyes On FF. I mean, in a eitire county, everyone else neglected this site except for you. What a honour!

Really? I don't so at all. From what Cuchulainn posted, that only strengthens that belief. xD But I love green hills, forests, those trees, the history of it all, with the castles. I'd love to go there, even if I'm not Irish.

My dad wants to vis the countries of all our origins. Those pictures don't anything for me. I am not one to "behold" beauty or grace. I am a person who touches that which I should look at, etc.
In order to fully absorb the beauty of those hills, I'd have to spend days on end running around them, goofing off.

Dunluce Castle, it was set on the edge of a cliff & joined to land by a bridgeway. in the 1700s the kitchen fell into the sea killing all the cooks. It's said the castle's owner, when hearing this said 'what am I going to do for meals' not giving a sh*t about the poor workers who plunged down the rocks into the sea. :D WHAT A GUY.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v431/Cuchulainn187/Picture031.jpg
The remains of Downhill House, burnt by a fire in 1890s. As it's a listed building it has remained there, abandoned ever since. There's a mosuleum & temple behind it & it's creepy.

I was on Inis Mór a while back. I was sitting on the steps to this statue, looking out at the bay. It was a good day, bright and clear.
This elderly Japanese woman was sitting beside me. She looked at me and I looked at her, and she pointed to herself and said:
"Japanese."
I pointed back to myself and replied:
"Irish."
With her thin hands she guestered out over the bay. What she said next I will never forget.
"Beautiful."
I simply replied,
"Yes." There was nothing more that could be said.
It's a strange feeling, when someone comes from the other side of the world, from a country so intricate and richly cultured as Japan, to tell you that your country looks beautiful :)
