What do you think the best 3D fighter game is?

I think this (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/screenshots_library/dir_88/vortal_pic_44143.jpg) is.

Your favourite 3D fighter game then...

Ugh...that game was terrible. Zero challenge and the inability to jump = not very good. The graphics were amazing though.

I've have to say Rival Schools is the best (and only worthwhile) 3D fighter I've played.

Yeah, the jump was pretty [W***].

But if you turn the difficulty up to full then it's quite a challenge. & Weapon Master Mode the second time around is hardly an easy challenge. :p

I always played on full difficulty and did the entire weapons quest thing with like five people...it was all rediculously easy. You can just pick a button and push it repeatedly non-stop and you win.

But alot of people love it, so I mean, the developers obviously did something right...I just thought it wasn't much fun but was extremely pretty and the battle grounds were amazingly life like.

I'll say Project Justice, the sequel to Rival Schools, is my favorite.

As for more 3D fighters, well:

Tekken
Virtua Fighter
Bloody Roar
Soul Calibur
Dead or Alive

There are some others, but they are too obscure, and as a result, shouldn't be included in the poll (games such as Vs. and Star Gladiator, for instance)

Yeah I was playing Soul Calibur multiplayer yesterday and it was great. That was probably the best 3D fighting game experiance I've had.

Bloodly Roar sucks :erm:

Anyways the best of the best is

Soul Calibur
Viruta Fighter 4: Evolution

Soul Calibur 2 is good but not as good as the first.

Bloody Roar rocked, the music rocked, the pure speed of the combat kicked ass, the characters were cool, and plus you can pump your guys by making them turn into beast-people.

Dreddz

Bloody Roar was terrible, the music, moves and stupid idea was the reason why it was rubbish and hasnt outsold its rivals

Best 3D beat 'em up for me is Soul Calibur 2 followed by Virtua Fighter 4.

I like the Tekken Series.

Soul Blade on the PS1 was the best on Playstation, though.

Soul Calibur 2 I thought the game was perfect well except it was a bit easy.

You mean the 3D fighters that might as well be 2D fighters.

Votes Soul Calibur 2.

And I hope we passed the audition.

"Soul Calibur" series is probably my favorite 3d fighting game.

(Soul Calibur 2 GC version had Link... now I could have fun fighting AND be a pathetic fangirl!)

You guys need to play Project Justice: Rival Schools 2. Go out and get a Dreamcast, I can help you get that game for free. I promise you won't look at other 3D fighters the same, this game is just so rockin' to play. Kyosuke is just awesome.

Usually prefer 2D fighters like KOF, SF3:TS, etc.

Top 3:
1. Virtua Fighters 4: Perfect (virtua fighters series in general has the best play mechanisms to master and is the most balanced of any 3d fighters)
2. Soul Calibre series (Nice characters designs and story)
3. Rival School 2 (a 3D game that plays like 2D game perfectly)

Noteworthy: Tekken series is decent but way too much preset combos and is a real button masher's dream. I don't particularly dig it but recently Tekken 5 characters has had some of it's costumes design by 'Oh Great!' which created the manga Tenjou Tenge. That to me makes it noteworthy as I love this fighting manga.

[Poll Added]

If any of you were being sarcastic about any of your choices, then it's not my fault as I don't play on that many fight 'em ups.

& if a mod or admin knows of any others to go on the list, put them on.

:p

I like Tekken, Virtua Fighter and Rival Schools 1 and 2.

But I guess that Tekken is the best!

Although Rival Schools 1 and 2 are very good too!

And I also didn't play Dead or Alive, but I heard that was awesome game! Well, someday I'll know the truth... :rolleyes2

Edit: The ones such as 'Soul Calibur' & 'Tekken' ie: The ones that have more than one game in the series count for all of them. Soul Calibur counts for I & II & Tekken counts for Tekken, Tekken 2, Tekken 3 etc.

Thanks.

Soul Blade was good. But I voted Tekken to fool you.

Kyosuke was awesome in the original Rival Schools. Kyosuke + Roberto = PWNAGE. FP, FP, L+HK, rival launcher, super jump, BV2. I can't even tell you how crazy some of the battles in that game were. For some reason it's just about the most intense thing ever. You can just forget the arcade disc though, evolution is where it's at.

Shaq-Fu needs to be outlawed. Every copy of the game needs to be procured, locked in a chest and buried at sea.

Soul Calibur definitely. Anyone who says it's too easy hasn't cranked the difficulty up all the way, and there's no way someone can beat Weapon Master mode by only button mashing. A lot of those challenges force you to look at the move list and learn new moves and strategies to beat an opponent, many of which you would have to extremely lucky to figure out by button mashing.I found it to be a very challenging game, and saw great reward in actually learning to use a character properly as it makes it much easier to beat the crap out of friends when you know what you're doing.

The only character in Tekken I absolutly loved was King. You gotta admit King's the definition of a "good guy".

I never saw why people liked Soul Calibur so much. I mean sure it's a great game, but I wouldn't give it the best fighting game award. Nay, that goes to the Street Fighter Movie game.

All jokes aside, Virtua Fighter 4 would have to be the best in my opinion. The system works so that it's impossible to button mash and then win against real opponents. The problem with games like Soul Calibur and Tekken is that they're centered on power moves and if you button mash, you can pull off maybe 5 hit combos. Virtua Fighter 4 is pure fighting and really requires skill over memorization of combos and power attacks.

If there's one thing I've always appreciated in King, it's that he hangs in there with the whole jaguar impression thing. If he's gettin' beaten down by Xiaoyu or Jack-5, it doesn't matter. He just keeps roaring in pain. That tells me not only does he have a high pain threshold but that he's also REALLY committed to impersonating a big cat. YOU'RE GETTING BEATEN UP, for God's sake.
