Final Fantasy I Dawn of Souls Help

Hello, I'm playing FF Dawn of Souls for the Game Boy Advance right now.

I have just upgraded my characters by giving the rat's tail to Bahamut. However, when I try to buy Level 8 spells, I'm not allowed. It says my level of magic isn't high enough.

My characters are all at level 38. What's wrong?

What Characters? Only White and Black Wizards can use them, not anyone else.

I have a White Wizard and Black Wizard. They can both use Level 7 spells but not 8. When I try to buy the Level 8 spells I get a message saying that my magic level is too low.

Then your not at a high enough level. Level up.

What level do I need to be to buy these Level 8 spells?

I'm right now at Level 38.

I think it's at level 40.....Try levelling up to there.....:p

only 38?no offense but you do seem a bit low. by the time i beat lich on the GBA version i was level 30.
