My Reasons: I totally hated the cartoon-like version, I'm a fan of the more realistic Zelda; and yes, I've played Windwaker. Dark Cloud was fun for a while...but it starts to get REALLY boring and old building a village after village after village! FF: Crystal Chronicles was just terrible! It wasn't even like the other Final Fantasies! Too many bad things to say about this one that it would make this post too long.. Monkeyball? Well, let's just say that rolling, rolling, and more rolling gets lame. Clock Tower 3 I kinda liked until I found out that you can't kill anything. You are running from the enemy throughout most of the game and if they catch up to you, the game gave you the option to hide in a corner or behind a curtain, etc. I personally don't like to hide from monsters. I LIKE TO KILL THEM! :radred:

Agreed...now the first game got quite repetitive...but i liked how they made that work in the 2nd one....they didnt FORCE you to jump into things...there was just so much other stuff you could do (like the fish tank...now THAT was fun) but i couldnt understand why you could get bored...i myself have to take a few breaks from the game here and there (havent beaten it yet...but i intend to by the end of summer) but its a fun game

Oh, I know that, I was simply disparaging your list with an offhand comment instead of the ensuing criticisms of your choices.

1: Metal Gear Solid 3 - I haven't played, but reports seem to indicate it's well put-together, graphically and aurally competent. Also, if it's anything like 2 the gameplay is fluid and compelling. This is not a candidate, because it is playable and because the high production values went to good use.

2: Final Fantasy X - With a solid story and battle system, excellent graphics, wonderful characters (Well, as long as you look past Tidus and Yuna.), another innovative method of upgrading your characters, and largely competent voice acting, I can really see why this would be a candidate not for least favourite, not for most overrated, but for worst game ever.

3: Ogre Battle for the 64 and the SNES - Haven't played, can't comment, but I'm pretty sure about four million glowing reviews are going to have trouble being so wrong as to make this one of the WORST games ever.

4: Diablo I and II - Maybe the gameplay isn't to your liking. I can understand this. But with a robust fighting system, a reasonable graphical system, in II especially diverse classes, and a lifespan and value for money (They've released patches after Warcraft III came out.) that is almost as horrific as the big man himself, your claim of it being one of the worst games ever once again fails.

5: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - Again, this is just a genre you dislike. Plenty of people like this game, and find it not only eminently playable but also addictive and solid, generally bug-free, and just all around fun, this again is not a candidate.

FFVIII was a good game, but I can see why people hate it because of it's love-love Squall Rinoa thing in it. What I don't get is how people prefered FFX-2 over FFX. The things that I loved best in FFX (the general story line, the romance) was lacking in FFX-2. If only they had put more emphasis on Lenne and Shuyin, that game would've knocked FFX's socks off...

And if it didn't have game music that sounded like it came out of a cheap porno. This is not in any way insulting 1000 Words though, that song was great. And the piano intro is just... amazing. It was the music that went on during battles and going around the areas that sucked.

Yes, I did just that. Why? Because "In your own eyes," or something along those lines, is in the title. In my own eyes:

MGS 3 is the most boring MGS out of all of the MGSs. Did I say most boring MGS? I meant most boring game. Yeah, it may have great graphics and slightly new, but that doesn't change the fact that I hate games that have you crawl around in the grass either waiting for an enemy to turn his back or for a snake to come your way. Boss battles are pretty intense, but for the most part, I hated it.

I don't have a grudge against stealth games, as I liked the first two MGSs.

FFX is the worst of all the series. I've argued countless times my position. It has a solid story, I'll agree with you there, but the problem is that it's so unbelievably linear. The gameplay, much like the story, is also very linear. Very? I meant extremely. Finish a trial, go on a path, finish another trial, go on a... mountain? Something diff... oh wait, it's a mountain path. The Sphere Grid was a nice touch, but, like the story and gameplay, becomes quite tedious after a while. The battles were.... Hm... If I were to grade the battles on a scale from 1-10, I'd give them a 6. They sort of introduced the whole "Condition Commands," and it would've made a fine addition to the game, only they didn't really take it to the next level. Each condition had a different name, but usually served 1 purpose: to get you out of a pickle.

Ogre Battle 64; yep, I definitely went overboard with this one. I take this one back and replace it with Unlimited Saga for obvious reasons.

Diablo I and II are some of the most repetitive games ever. No wait, clicking the left mouse button 50 trillion times every 2 seconds isn't.

Baldur's Gate is like every other dungeon crawler. Seriously. You fight giant rats first, then get to monsters/ogres/bears/Willy Wonka. Hack 'em up, then cast magic on the big guys. I don't hate hack 'n' slashes(I love RotK), but I hate Baldur's Gate.

5. Final Fantasy 2. ^_^; I just didn't really like this game much. Please do not kill me for saying this... (FF2 for the NES/PSX/GBA)

4. Mega Man X 6...I really was excited about this game, but it did not live up to the hype for me.

3. Saga Frontier...I had a hard time choosing between this and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the third spot, but I think this is definately the worst RPG from Square I have ever played...ever.

2. The SNES port of pit fighter...I think this is by far the worst fighting game I have ever played.

Half-Life 1 and 2, DooM III, Far Cry and Quake all beat the /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif out of Halo any day of the week.

Halo has good gameplay mechanics but the actual game design and level design are down right terrible.

I'd say it's one of the finest First Person shooters on the market today. It's far better than Doom 3, at the very least. If you want a fast game, then, sure, Unreal or something similar would be better, but there are many great things about Halo 2 that make it an extremely fun and well made shooter. It IS overhyped, but still very good.

Here is the thing...it isn't a very good FPS. DooM III does what Halo does and it does it better. Pointless action and shooting. At least in DooM III they give you some really sweet looking places to go kick ass in. Nothing like fucking up demons in hell!

I play Halo 2 online and online only. It would be even better if the online modes wasn't so fucking retarded though. Random stuff sucks.

Halo 2 has terrible level design all around which is what makes it so bad. The difficulty of Halo was the only saving grace but Halo 2 fucked that in the ass royally by forcing you to fight guys with damn near perfect accuracy...with explosive weapons followed by guys with sniper rifles to back those guys up.

The graphics are poorly done and have really bad pop-in/renderization(I made up a word!).

I rest my case.

Half-Life 2 brought in unbelievably immersive, non-linear environments where pretty much anything can be moved/blown up. Halo 2 has some shabby work around the edges, but neither game is riddled with bugs, neither game is unresponsive, neither has bad collision detection or physics, both have good graphics, good sound, are well put-together in terms of the absence of gaps between scenery. And they've got plenty of funny stuff, too.

Even if you don't like the gameplay, or you think it's a boring story, or unoriginal, or whatever, there's no logical way to arrive at the conclusion that Halo is bad, nevermind worst. Not to your taste, fine. I'll look at you askance and go on to other matters. Yes, that's fair enough, good graphics, good engine, the multiplayer is fun, but that's all there is to it, multiplayer, and even then after a while it just grows tiresome, and you're paying for XBox Live too. So you're paying extra to play a game that you've already paid for, for which the multiplayer and online aspect is the only enjoyable thing. Well, if I want a game that is purely JUST multiplayer, then I might as well just go play an Unreal Tournament game, and it's free to play online as well.

The rest of the game is just empty, void of anything interesting at all, and that applies to both Halo and Halo 2, if I want to consider a game "good" it has to have everything that I want from a game, and a large part of that is to actually have some kind of single player game to it, or something at least INTERESTING about that single player.

Good engine, shame there's no game to back it up, that is why I consider them bad, because there's just pretty much NOTHING to them. That's my logical reasoning, just because you seem unable to accept that doesn't mean it isn't "logical".

Please tell me you're joking. Halo and Halo 2 brought nothing new to the FPS genre except pretty graphics, which Half Life 2 put to shame with its mind-blowing graphics. Half-Life 2 brought in unbelievably immersive, non-linear environments where pretty much anything can be moved/blown up. There are so many ways to beat levels that you'll want to keep playing it over and over.

I missed this one.

HL2 has good graphics and was damn good fun. It was worth the money I paid for it, I don't regret buying it or the time I spent playing it. HL2 was technically very impressive, and had an immersive world. I really loved the viewscreens and such, it gave a wonderful Orwellian feel - the references to Zamyatin's We were also wonderful. But to claim it is non-linear? I haven't seen a game as linear as that since the days of 2-D platformers. Half-Life makes trains look free-roaming. I mean, in those city levels, there weren't even different streets to take, let alone allowing you to wander around anywhere. Halo isn't exactly open-ended either, but at least the areas were large enough to give some sense of it. Ravenholm and the buzzsaws excepted, I can think of very few places where there was much option but to shoot my way out. And most of those involved the Gravity Gun anyways. I'm not saying Halo is much better here, and Halo 2 isn't any better at all in this regard, but come on, you can do better than that.

Besides which, if you want to talk about really being able to mess around with the environment, you talk about Red Faction. ;)

I think if people want to torture themselves they need to play Capcom Fighting Evolution. It was Capcom's last 2D fighting game so they decide to go out with crap in their pants. I read this entire thread- and halo 2 is fun, but very boring after a while. Its a great game but its the annoying 9 year olds on x-box live that ruin it, as well as the idiot high-schoolers that play it and act like the own the world. News flash dipstick- your good at halo. That means NOTHING in the real world.
But really, to me, the five worst games are

5. Anything by GTA- Yes, grand theft auto just annoys me. I've never even played it, but the fact that it is just a bunch of hispanics running around shooting each other? Heck, I live in texas. If I wanted to see that, I'd look out my window for FREE.

4. THE ENTIRE MEGA MAN SERIES.
Okay, for a while, it was okay, but the "running through the internet with a little boy" and using "power chips" or whatever the heck you call them- makers of this game, please kill yourselves. What megaman game are they making now? Megaman x.... what? Like 99 bajillion?

3. .Hack//all four of these games
They made like what? 4? 1 was enough. Okay so some guy goes into a coma. The dungeons were repedetive and boring, and very similar. The first one was fun, up until the killer snaker battle where I realized that I payed good money for an online rpg that isnt even online. The tv show kicked butt though. Tsukasa.... Mimiru- yeah those were some good shows.
