I haven't never been to a concert, but my favorites would have to be The Number of the Beast and Fear of the Dark. Iron Maiden is the greatest American band ever.

Although people will just think that I dont like them cause there rock is wrong, I dont like them as all 80's music is dead and gone and should be forgotten
But just listening to all new music would suck, good music can be taken from all the times.
gibbi8, you wouldn't understand even if I tried to explain, so I'll just leave your comment uncommented... Okay I have to say one thing. Listening to only something that's "new" or "hip" or "in" isn't so civilized and "cool" as you might think. Would you also want to make 80's hip hop all "dead and gone" and "forgotten"? No, I wouldn't think so. Everything new in both hip hop and rock is based on those 80's (and earlier) artists, who were pioneers in their area.
That said, continuing on.
Iron Maiden is one of the metal pioneers, along Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Motörhead, etc. the list goes on. That's why at I think they should be respected (even if not for the music, but for the guidance they've given to followers), even I respect those hip hop guys who started it all (though I don't know their names x)), even if I don't like the outcome of that development :D
It's a bit difficult to state one song over the other, because for one I haven't listened to Maiden so much, but also because there are many best songs, and it's a tough choice... Hmm. The Trooper, Fear of the Dark, Run to the Hills and Die With Your Boots On are all great songs. No-one has so much balls in their singing voice as Bruce does :P
I'm going to see their concert next month here in Finland \o/ can't wait to see it.
teeh, after this I've seen almost every one of the metal gods live :P only Black Sabbath (Why Ozzy why... why did you have to have that accident ;_;) and Motörhead are still left unseen.

as all 80's music is dead and gone and should be forgotten
the thing is that iron maiden is not from the 80's. and MOST, not all, 80's music is dead and should be forgotten (why wont you just die montly crew and ratt and poison and europe and... and most of you!!).
Okay radyk05, you got a good point there.
I mean...
"IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!" AAAARGH >_<

Maiden are fast becoming one of my favourite bands ever. Favourite tracks right now are "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son," "The Trooper," "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," and "Hallowed Be Thy Name," but that could conceivably change at any minute. I haven't seen them in concert yet, but I'd very much like to.

That's completely untrue. There are many people who still listen to music from that era.
When I said "greatest American band ever," I really meant "greatest english-singing band ever."

80's music is NOT a genre. But it did have many sub-genres:
New Wave, Dance Pop, Hip Hop, Punk.

I'm not as into them as a lot of other older heavy metal stuff, but they are still painfully good. Hallowed Be Thy Name was the song that got me into them, so that can go down as the favourite.

i think Rini made a good point. SOME 80s music should be forgotten maybe (glam rock.. ugh) but metal and punk from that era is here to stay, like Metallica, megadeth, maiden etc etc. and lets not forget that some modern popular bands started in that era e.g. red hot chili peppers and greenday .. we just hadnt heard of them then.
and I think the best maiden stuff is number of the beast, can i play with madness, fun to the hills, flight of icarus, wickerman and there were more i cant think on the spot very well
I will be seeing them in Leeds carling festival august bank holiday weekend they are headlining YEAH !!!!

You're a comedy genius!
I don't need Bill Bailey to make me laugh anymore, I can just read what you post.
Iron Maiden have done some brill songs in their time.
I love:
The Clairvoyant
The Trooper
Run to the Hills
2 Minutes to Midnight
Be Quick or be Dead
Aces High
Fear of the Dark
Running Free
Wasted Years
Powerslave
Hallowed Be Thy Name..
.. God, I could go on for ages. I'm not fortunate enough to of had the honour to go to see them though.

I was at their concert at Ullevi Stadium yesterday.
It's the first concert I've ever been to. And now I'm so happy I could cry.
Being there with 56 000 people screaming in response to their music.
Ecstacy.
And Bruce Dickinson is a godsend. He's charismatic, fun, energetic, and has a wonderful voice. And all of them seem to be genuinely nice people. I love them, now more than ever. Next time they're in Sweden, I will be there for certain.
Favourite songs.. Maybe, Where Eagles Dare or The Trooper. Or whatever, really.

i don't listen to them much but i do really like them
Well just 2 days ago there was the Iron maiden concert from sweden and i got it on vhs ^^ that´s how far my concert experiences have gone.
And Fear of the Dark rocks sooo hard. "When I´m walking the dark road, I´m the man who walks alone.."
There were two gigs in Finland last week, wednesday and thursday. And boy was I glad to be on the wednesday gig, 'cause on thursday they weren't at their best, because of the London bomb accidents :/ Anyway I loved the gig (even though I wasn't on the field, I had seat tickets), and I loved to scream along to the songs \o/ The Trooper and Run to the Hills really stood out as crowd-cheering hits. Oh and Number of the Beast too.
ughhhis, wow, sounds so weird that they'd play Trooper again so soon after the London accidents, but glad for you they did. It's a great live act. I personally loved it when Bruce had those British flags with him as he pranced around the stage like he was high on vitamins or something :D. Absolutely stunning.
I also have the swedish gig (was it Ullevi that was televized, I'm not sure) on tape, and gonna watch it some day soon (I was too tired to stay up saturday night so I went to sleep and let the VCR do the job x)).
I'm seeing them in the Summer. I'll reserve my judgement till I've seen them in the flesh.
