Well, which is it?

This question came up to me because, on my job application, one of the questions was something like "Which is more important to you, fast, prompt service or a superior product?" I chose the superior product, i.e. quality, but I wondered, what do others feel is more important? So I figured I'd ask you guys, since I have nothing better to do.

Depends but I´m saying quantity because in school one day we had meatballs and i love them and there was a note:"8 balls per student" So i took 22 :D The cook came over and said to me:"What the hell are you doing!?!?" So i said:"I´m replacing quality with quantity."

Damn i´m smart.

It depends, but in most cases it would be quality. Alot of crap is still just crap, basically. :p

well what would you have: 1 intel 2800+ processor or 2 amd 2800+ processors? think about that until your head explodes.

Fast, prompt service is not quantity, it's quality of service as opposed to quality of product.

Anyways, I'd take good product, you only have to deal with a stupid vendor once, but the product's probably something that needs to last months or years.

Quality. Quantity just overcrowds your closet while having a few things of quality is good!

Quality, no doubt about it. The way I see it, a poor quality product has limited use, is irritating to use or doesn't do what it's supposed to. That being the case, why would you want two of them?

RSL

Quality of course.

quality because quantity makes our nations wasteful!i hate this throwaway culture where we buy cheap goods that don't last long and are thown away far more often. it royaly pisses me off especially since i work in a supermarket and the customers can be impatient tight fisted ... *ahem*

Which is better? a cheap fiat punto that breaks down every 5 freakin minutes (like my mates old one)
or a lush jag x-type thatll last forever and will look classy forever?

Fast, prompt service is not quantity, it's quality of service as opposed to quality of product.

Well, I asked my boss about that, and he said that I kinda was like, "Is it better to serve more food or to serve better food?" Of course, he also said he thought it was a stupid question and, to him, it didn't matter...

Quality it's like saying 5 computers with Windows 98 or 1 with Windows XP

(i'd choose AMD over Intel/Pentium any day)

Quality, definitely.

Say for example I was a commander in the military.I'd rather have 5 well-trained soldiers under my command than a platoon of 25 poorly-trained,substandard soldiers.

Well when it comes to money i would definitely go for quantity.

When it comes to my microprocessor chip quality holds true. (AMD baby!)

When it comes to my bowling score, i'd say quantity, but i'd need a quality bowling ball in order to achieve that high quantity score. None of those crappy house balls will suffice.

You can't have both quality and quantity.

However, let's see. In business terms, if you want to sell as many as possible, you'll sell more for a cheap price. If you want to sell a high quality item, your business will make several, and sell for a higher price, but the quality is good, so it's well worth the price.

So, higher quantity = lower price; higher quality = higher price

Of course, I'd go for quality most of the time, but as a consumer, I'll go for the cheaper because I'm a cheapskate, so quantity for me in that sense.

However, I prefer to have quality over quantity.

Ah, fair enough then. And good for your boss. In terms of food? Quantity. So long as I can eat it, I'm pretty much happy. 'Course, most places I eat actually do give good food in large amounts, so yays. xD

Let's hypothetically assume that you can only have one.

Quality it's like saying 5 computers with Windows 98 or 1 with Windows XP

You know, there's a lot of people that would disagree with the idea that XP is better than 98.

But yeah...I'd have to go with everybody else and say quality.

Depends, should you be the leading head of the company, you want quanity, you want to push as much of you product out with the littlest of cost ever. Quality however does not apply to me within buisness practice however(unless its just TOO bad where people will sue), you always want maximum profit, from minimal input. And hence fast food restaruants.

Quality should be everything that you make that is to you and personal close friends. Buisness-wise nope, none of that, although we feed that bullcrap to you every single day about quality. Just like how every book is more groundbreaking than the one released last week, and how every movie will be a new thrill ride that you wont forget.
