Freya, because her jump abilty avoided attacks
Zidane, because he could deal high damage and his trance was good and you had to have him in your party anyway
Dagger, for cureing .etc.
Amarant, becuase he could cast auto life on the whole party whilst in trance and he could deal high damage

Dragon's Crest can deal 9999 damage, and it is ridiculously easy to power up, and it is just 16 MP.

White Draw can restore good amounts of MP to everyone.

You use Lancer a lot at the beginning of game.

Cherry Blosson is not THAT useful, but can deal a neat amount of damage, if you don't want to power up Dragon's Crest.

Jump is obviously useful. With High Jump and Dragon's Hair, my Freya dealt 5000+ with Jump.

Her stats are the most balanced in the game.

Zidane - Garnet (Dagger) - Freya - Steiner

Zidane, Freya and Steiner can inflict 9,999, Garnet heals and achieves 6,000 with Bahamut... Is anyone with me when I say this game's too easy?

Side note: When I say too easy, I don't mean bad, because I consider it to be the best FF...

It's way easy compared to IV, but ok, you can do 9999 damage, but in FFVII, all you have to do is say attack at a high enough lvl, and you do 9999 damage, multiple times with the right materia, then you can have Cloud do Omnislash. 9999 9999 9999 9999...

But anyways, yeah, Garnet and Eiko have different advantages. Garnet has Curaga and Esuna, but Eiko has Full-Life and Pheonix, so it's up to your playing style. Freya's good to take to Oeilvert, b/c you can get a really powerful weapon during the chocobo sidequest there, however, if you put Steiner in your party, you might as well put Vivi in your party. I haven't played in a while, but Vivi's ultimate magic, Ultima I think, does really good damage, then you can have Steiner do the sword version, but you'll need equipment that absorbs dark elementals since it's an all-target. Meanwhile, not using Freya means you need just one piece of knight armor instead of two.

when i beat the game for the first time, i sadly had amarant, zidane, steiner, and vivi. amarant, i find ore useful than freya. his no mercy does good enough imo. anything stronger is pretty much too easy. i like zidane (uhg), steiner, eiko, amarant/freya. that, so far has been the best one i have seen/used.
