If you live in England you can see it on Sky One sometiems. It's a brilliant show.

There are 2 versions in Japan in one there's a Gay man in the first season in the later he was made female (Sailor Moon premiered when Homosexuality was stil wrong to most people) Only the Female version got translated.

Actually, it's not that bad, but I have a lot.

My favorite shirt in the whole wide world of when I was in Middle School (I was so darn popular in middle school too, true story) was this orange Sailor Venus shirt. Sailor V was the most awesomeist sailor seishi of them ALL!! I hate Sailor Mercury because this lady in a chatroom said she was Sailor Mercury and she used to rip out my spine. But anyway. Sailor V got teased for being lesbian when she really wasn't it's just she didn't have many boyfriends because she was too busy being a movie star.

Yep. I've heard of it.

Sailor Moon is the female version of Dragonball Z in my eyes. IE, bad.

The American version is, yes. The Japanese version is much better.

I love Sailormoon, always have. I have a LOT of Sailormoon stuff, even from the old days where it was hard to find it in America. I love the manga, the anime, and the live action. My favorite character is Sailorvenus. Woo.

I used to be a major Sailormoon fan 10 years ago. Actually, this anime is what triggered my interest for all things Japanese in the first place, so it gave me a big input about what to do with my future life. Aaaah, good times. *nostalgic*

I loved Sailormoon when it was on in Australia - years and years ago. It hasn't been on in Australia for at least five years. So I would love to watch it again - when I find it on eBay or something.

Hehe, Sailor Moon was the first “girl” (yes I know she isn’t real) I fantasised about. But I was about 8 at the time, so I have an excuse.

Sailor Moon started my obsession with Anime.

BTW, is it just me, or was Darian way too old for her?
(yes, I watched the US version, i didn't have anything else available at the time)

She's in Jr High when the show starts, Mamoru is in his last year of High School. Well, that's the manga at least. I think he's fully in college in the beginning of the anime, and the live action. It's a pretty big age gap, and comments are made about it at times, especially by Usagi's parents. Otherwise, no one seems to care.

Isn't age less of an issue in Japan? I know the age of consent is lower than much of Europe and the US, and from what I've been told (Could have been lies, but still) fewer eyelids are batted at differences in age, even between younger people.

Anyways, I've not seen very much Sailor Moon, mainly because decent versions are hard to get in England, but I do like the show. I blame my girlfriend and our two best friends for this. But I don't care, 'cause it's fun =P

I think I like Sailor Uranus (Haruka) the most. Ok, I can't deny the relationship with Michiru is a bonus, but it's more because she's realistic about things; rather than being all "Laaaaa~ we will triumph over everything and live happily ever after!" she knows and accepts that sometimes life sucks.

Never liked it, I always found it to be incredibly cheesy. Especially the live action Sailor Moon, which I was unlucky enough to witness in Anime Club awhile back. Made me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork.

Well yeah, but the live action version only exists so we can laugh at it.

The live action is incredibly cheesy at points, but there are times... Rei's reaction to Minako's death in one of the later episodes had me sobbing. Some of it was really good, but again it was made for little kids so it was cheesy.

As for the age difference, yes it is less of a thing in Japan, as far as I know.

I love Sailor Moon...I been watching it since I was like 8 years old. My first anime. I downlaoded the manga, and I read throught it, and it is a heck a lot better than the bs we got in North America, when i get I higher connection (currently have dial up) I am going to download the episodes. Any read Codename: Sailor V? That manga made me fall in love with Sailor V, she is awesome. The whole gay guy thing was about Zoisite. I wish they aired the last season...*curses North America* I wanted to see the animates, and the whole Sagittarus Zero thing. I find the plot really deep in the manga. I heard that the liscense for the manga revert back to japan so that means no more english manga publishings, unless someone gets the liscences again.

I find in the manga they protray Serena (Usagi, Bunny, w/e you wanna call her) as more strong, she seems a lot more weak in the Anime. also I love how Rei looks in the managa, she is so pretty.

Wasn't there only like 4 years difference in their age in the manga? because Usagi was in grade 8, and he was in HS, latest he was could be a Senior. So there isn't really that big of a gap. But then in the Anime wasn't he out of school?

*rants about Sailor Moon**points to sig and the "My Obsession" part (Scary thing some of them apply to me)*

I love Codename Sailor V! I so love Minako, and the sad story of her romance with Kaitou Ace makes me cry.

I think that was the manga age difference, yes, but that's still a pretty big difference to Western culture. In the anime... I dont think it ever says for the first season. But at one point, I believe it was in R or S, there's an episode where Usagi tries to be more cultured for Mamoru, and talks about the sophisticated music college students listen to. So for all I know, the age gap is probably exactly the same.

They probably messed with the ages, cuz I know they did that in the Inu Yasha manga too, in the anime she is younger (Kagome I mean). I loved the ending of the Sailor V manga. It provides the depth of the whole relationship between Princess Selenity and the other senshi (In a way it is sad that they will not find true love, yet they have this ever close relationship to Serena). To me also, it gives more explaination on how they become a senshi, though it is loosely explained towards the end of the BSSM manga. I find it cool in the one where she helps that manga artist for a day, and they show a pic on the TV and it is the shadows of all Solar senshi.

>>> The only thing I like about Sailor Moon it is the fact that the Mangaka: Naoko Takeuchi married Toshihiro Togashi, the guy who created Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter..
Geez, Im sure their babies will be publishing their own mangas at the age of 10.. Madness!

Oh, and for anyone still wondering about Mamoru's (Darien's) age, he's in college in the first season of the anime (I'm watching some of it now, and they say it in this particular episode).

I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan. I still haven't seen Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon yet, but I really want to (sucks having dialup ;__; )...well, I did see half way through the first episode, and damn Jedite had some messed up teeth. o__O

I need to read the manga too...everyone rates it higher than the anime by far.

I used to record it (I was still in school when it came on) but it stopped showing all of a sudden. It came back, and I hardly had time to watch it, but I did all I could. Finally, it was gone for good. I went on eBay and found the first four seasons (bootlegged probably) for under $25 a piece, so of course I bought them. I watch them every once in a while.

Sailor Moon is my favorite love story series. I have been a fan of 10 years, since 1995. I love the anime, manga and live action version. Sailor Moon has the best love story. I love Tuxedo Mask. The main couple, and the best couple, Usagi/Mamoru, also known as Serena/Darien have the most romantic, loving story. They are boyfriend and girlfriend during most of the series, get married, have a child and have the msot loving, romantic story. They have lots of romantic kisses, dates, hugs and get to meet their future child. It's the most romantic story ever. I love the Japanese version. The Japanese version of the anime is my favorite version. The Japanese version is the best. I love Usagi/Mamoru and Serena/Darien's wonderful love story. I love stories where the main couple gets married.
